I don't like vampires. I'm gonna take a stand and say they're not good.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Bones: Loved Booth's "because we're the good guys" speech. Made me all smiley. Cop shows tend to ignore the purpose of diplomatic immunity.

OK, this is creepy: I'm about to call someone at a Large Corporation, and my cousin works for them too, but I'm not 100% sure doing what, so I thought I'd google my cousin and see if I could nail down her job, just in case. Turns out, her name is a character in Harry Potter!

Oh, that's so cool! I mean, I love the sounds of the names JKR comes up with, so I guess your cousin has a really nice-sounding name, too, on top of hiding her non-Muggle ways from your family.

It's not a very impressive name, honestly. Turns out, she's a minor Ravenclaw, and I must have noticed it at the time, because she's only named in the first book, and then never again. According to wikipedia.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Turns out, her name is a character in Harry Potter!

For a moment here I thought what you'd learnt was her name, not that you'd known her name all along and learnt it was also a character in Harry Potter.

I spent way too long wondering how you googled her without knowing her name.

But I woke up stupid this morning (migraine) and even though I napped in the parking lot, stuff's a little slow to start. Which is a shame, since I'm filling in today for a co-worker on something that may be complicated and stressful.

Wikipedia says "nothing more is known about her", and "nothing" includes "having a cousin named Jesse", you know.

ita, I hope you've wasted all of today's stupid on HP and the rest of the day will be better.

Heh. "All these years, and I finally learned my cousin's name: Ginny Weasley!"
