Natter 47: My Brilliance Is Wasted On You People
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Timelies, Kat.
We just had our clocks moved an hour backwards on Saturday night. Calculating other people's timezones is even more complicated now for my poor little head (why, yes, it's still aching from the no-drinking-for-25-hours of the fast). The easiest way to do it is wait until somebody posts and see the time-stamp on the post. However, I can't recommend it to everybody, right?
[Edit: and being wrapped up in holidays, I missed mentioning MFNlaw & her DH's anniversary two days ago, so belated wishes for them!]
morning Kat and Nilly.
Nilly, this means you are 6 hours ahead now, yes? It's 1:30 for you right now?

Yup.
Hmm, do you wanna do some other work for me, too, now, since you have such a better brain than mine?
And while you are both up and doing work, will you do some of mine?
The USanians still have a couple weeks to go before the clocks move back, and then we'll have to learn to recalculate again.
Besides, I hate the getting-dark-early. I'd much prefer sun-come-up-later, personally, because a) I wake mostly with the dawn and all that pesky light and b) I have more use for light after I'm out of work. So, feh.
What I really have to do is figure out a lifestyle that will allow me to move to the Other Hemisphere from October to, say, March.
HA! I just have to get it straight, because we have these few weeks where we are only 6 hours off from the Israel offfice. Then we switch our clocks and are back to 7.
I must get ready for work. bye.
Actually, what I'm pretending like I'm trying to do now involves writing in English and trying to express other people's work in a short and interesting manner (some report for a committee regarding some research grant). Any of you would do it so much better than me.
On top of the change in timezones calculations, I also have to remind myself that this is not, in fact, a Sunday (another residue from yesterday's holiday), so you guys actually have to go to work and stuff.

We move the clocks back according to the Jewish calendar (the Sunday before Yom-Kippur), and it rarely synchronizes properly with the general ones, in termso f dates for such things.
On Studio 60, one thing is driving me crazy. Brad's character in named Danny and Timothy Busfield's character isn't. I find this confusing.
I have the same problem with Supernatural. The actor who was Dean on Gilmore Girls is not Dean on Supernatural - his brother is. Way to confusing!
My Studio 60 thing is that they are Danny and Matt, not Dan and Casey. Clearly Aaron Sorking needs a moratorium on Daniel and it's diminutives.
I also am often confused by the Dean/not Dean thing. But I've only just started watch Supernatural.

At least he wasn't a William. Or a Jack.
On HEROES,
the cheerleader pulling a DEATH BECOMES HER routine was over the top, but I laughed like a drain when it happened, so I don't mind. I do think Hiro picking up the gun was totally stupid. And while I noted Clea Duvall in the credits, I completely missed her role as the cop arresting not!Weiss.
Still liking it a lot. I'm curious to see how the pace goes next week - I almost wish they had just done a two-hour pilot instead of making two episodes from it; the heavy exposition wouldn't have bugged nearly as much.
