Yes they are! Although, I think maybe this year they never went away? I did have some recently, though.

I'm surprised to see in Wikipedia that 70% of Mallomars are sold in the NY metro area, since they were such a big thing in my New England childhood. My grandmother is a huge fan, and she's definitely not from New York.

I was skeptical, but the cite is from this NYTimes article (linked at the bottom of the Wikipedia page). Of course, the Times doesn't say where the stat comes from either.
