I'm taking today off because I'd rather be at home than deal with office Halloween "hijinks"--I've never worked in a really cool office--plus I like doing pagany things today.
However, the plan was derailed somewhat because Hubby's surgeon decided he needed some more tests before the next surgery on Nov. 13 and today got picked. It was fun seeing the costumes in the doctor's office. The test was the one Hubby dreads most, nerve induction, ie, stick a two-inch needle into the arm, run electricity into it, see what happens. He even told the doctor, "I'm a wimp about pain," before this. It's very distressing to be a loyal wife and not being able to smack someone who's causing your mate pain in the head. I just get to sit there while Hubby is shoving his arm in his mouth to keep from yelling. Still, mustn't hit the man holding the electrical control.
Still, I wore my Extra Sparkly Tiara of Taunting today, as opposed to Deena's Tiara of Creativity, and it was fun to watch people look at me in confusion, because that's all the costumey stuff I was wearing. It's a good day.
Okay, no more illnesses or injuries for you people. I mean it!
Oh lordy, that nerve induction sounds awful.
I should be making cards for the Christmas Bazaar Thursday. Instead, I'm surfing and playing Bejeweled.
I am going out to a show tonight, and I am going to enjoy it. This is my rule for myself.
Parenting woe: Lack of babysitters for nighttime events.
Lack of babysitters for nighttime events.
You pay the airfare and K-Bug will be there. Could cost less than porn.
Aims, I now have an endless supply of excellent babysitters (gotta love working at an all-girls school). Do you want me to ask the parents in the building who they recommend? Or are you not comfortable with this?
I bought bubble gum for the trick-or-treaters, because of its limited appeal to me and the fact that I so do not need to eat leftover Halloween candy. I did, however, decide to chew a piece. It just pulled a gold inlay out of my tooth.
Oh, Ginger, that plain sucks. I didn't think we'd have to include bubble gum in the list of sharp objects we all need to stay away from. Because, you know, not sharp.
Sean, much -ma to your mom. It sounds like everything will work out just fine, but, still, surgery is no fun.
Hope sj is feeling better. Sick on Halloween? That's just all kinds of wrong.
Am forgetting things. Please to know I thought the good thoughts for you while I was reading.
