I can understand with older kids like yours Suzi. They can and should use the library.
'Dirty Girls'
Spike's Bitches 32: I think I'm sobering up.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Choose library! But why not with toddlers, too?
Ok, I'm a little annoyed at this part of a craigslist ad for an apartment: Dogs only allowed if somebody is home all day to take them out. Please don't ask if you are a working dog parent, doggies just can't be expected to hold it that long.
Um, excuse me? But yeah - they can. And my dog? Has been left at home for 6+ hours everyday with no accidents for about 5 years now.
Not sure why it irritates me so much, but it does.
Well, with K-Bug, I can toss the car keys at her and tell her to haul her own tush to the library. More difficult to do that with a toddler.
I think she was talking about instilling reading habits? Shit... we lost the library card. Should replace.

More this. I went with my parents just about every week to the library. They're both readers so they needed books to keep themselves happy, and I think it was grand that they could tell us we could take home as many library books as we wanted.
But why not with toddlers, too?
I took the boys to the library, too -- and I do it especially right now with Sara. She's got a million "new" books of her brothers' still to grow into, so we go to the library every week and pick out books there.
It's also a fabulous way to test drive books. There are some I thought she'd love that she hated, and then there are others that I couldn't bear to read more than once.
Choose library! But why not with toddlers, too?Because they gnaw on the books?
The library is a great resource for books. I was more upset about this woman's attitude of reading as being a school thing and not something she should be doing with her kid at home. I have so many good memories of reading at home as a child.
I love and loved being read to. My grandmother STILL reads to me and I'm 32 years old.
