I got a lot done today, so why do I torture myself with Lifetime movies as a reward?

Spike's Bitches 32: I think I'm sobering up.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Yay for a new beautiful blue-haired Buffista baby!
vw, how many times are we going to have to talk to you about the Lifetime channel? We're going to have to find you a chapter of Sappy TV Anonymous.

Clearly a few more :). Sappy TV Anonymous--that sounds like just what I need.
Oy. In "I love my husband, BUT..." news, Ethan has set a potato pancake on fire. He was supposed to be heating it up for me to eat, but instead of turning the toaster oven on to bake, he turned it all the way to broil. There is now rather a lot of smoke in the kitchen.
Well, it could be worse. In college, I took a shower while "toasting" an english muffin in the toaster oven. When the smoke detector went off, I ran out of the bathroom in a towel, stood on a chair, and realized the towel was the only thing I had on hand to block the smoke and shut off the alarm. It was only after coming down from the chair that I remembered there were construction workers working right outside my window. Good times.
haveing DH clean - not the worst thing. But now he is makeing me deal with something i don't want to deal with . The stacks of to-be-read-books. bah

Hee. You're not lying
And now the camels are giving all kinds of attitude. Camels are natural Buffistas.
culled to-be-read pile, to about 120-150 books. that plus 40 hours of TIVO to catch up on explains why I shouldn't work every again in my life.
I forgot the netflix movies and the two DVDs we own that I haven't watched , and the fact that I am two episodes behind on the watch-n-post.
Hi everyone!
I had the most awesome day. I slept in until 11, leisurely did some laundry and cleaned up a bit, and then went over to visit ND at work...and work (well, one of his works, anyway) is at the about-to-be-reopened Griffith Observatory. It is SO COOL. I'd never been there since it's been closed for renovation since a few years before I moved out here, so just getting a look at the breathtaking views and the beautiful building was amazing enough. But then...I got to watch the new planetarium show! Granted, it's in rehearsal so has more than a few quirks, but I got a pretty good idea of how phenomenal it's going to be when it's done. If you live in LA or will be visiting the LA area, make your reservation now so you get a chance to see it! It was so cool to see it all with no one around. I doubt I'll ever get another chance like that. Being with ND has given me so many unique experiences, but this one was one of my favorites.
Now I'm sitting outside on our covered patio enjoying the warmth of evening. The crickets are chirping and the street is quiet; palm fronds and evergreens are silhouetted against the darkening blue of the dusk sky. I've lit the tea lights in the small lanterns to my right as well as a tall blue candle burning in the middle of the patio table. The little decorative lantern lights hanging along the edge of the roof give off that same warm glow. It smells amazing out here right now--the neighbors have lit a fire, and the air is tinged with that familiar spicy burnt scent. I'm sprawled in one of the patio chairs enjoying the beauty of Pasadena at dusk...and the fact that my wireless works.
Happy now.
