Spike's Bitches 32: I think I'm sobering up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Good lord, I skip out for a few days and I am a thousand posts and a whole new thread behind. Time for the powersuck...

passes her a nice stiff one.
Love. Aimee.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Okay, cut opinions: [link]

Definitely the first one. While you could certainly wear the other cuts they could trend to looking very momish between trims.

Emmett and I went to see How to Eat Fried Worms which was much better than it needed to be. Just a well crafted, well told story with interesting characters making character-revealing choices. A storytelling workshop that Scrappy would appreciate. The guy from Ed (the tv show) was the dad. Hallie Eisenberg was very good. She's all tall and budding and self-possessed, and still looks like a very jewish girl. That is to say, not Hollywood generic.

Afterwards I took Emmett to Burgermeister to stave off the inevtable start of school with a milkshake. That cheered him. Then he started to bemoan summer's end on the way home so we stopped at the corner store and I got him a treat.

Emmett: I miss summer! Oh, little gummi bear of sweetness - make me happy!

While mostly I've been put off by his whining, his gummi bear plea was cute in its sincere desperation.

You should get him a stuffed tiger to grouse to.

Always Anti-fascist!

That's cute, Hec. (puts gummi bears on list, just in case.)

Perhaps being a little bit country? I saw and Googled yesterday and then closed the windows. Sway me into debauchery?

Hallo, Bitches! Thanks for the birthday wishes! I am ensconced in a hotel room in Oklahoma City, with my coworker going to come pick me up in a little bit.

Sigh. I try to be good, and try to be good, and then Toronto emails me to wish me happy birthday and say she's glad I'm coming to town even if she doesn't get to see me and she hopes I'm having a good birthday. Darn her for being so cute and sweet, when she's not breaking my heart!

This is the kind of plane crash that freaks me out more than others - just pure screw up, sounds like

Amen. I was on a plane of that size today, and youbetcha I was looking out the window kinda going "Um, there's plenty of runway, right?"

I do have a massage scheduled for tonight, and I am going to pull it together and get going on getting back into therapy hopefully tomorrow. Because I feel very, very, dark and depressed.

Boo dark and depressed, but yay therapy and massage!! I've been thinking about both of those lately--anyone know a therapist who would do sessions over instant messenger? Because I fear a regular appointment in person just wouldn't work for me...

Whee!!!

Videos, so you may see the cuteness that is Corb. Also, the talent of the entire band. The venue: the Doug Fir Lounge looks pretty central.

(Seattlistas, tomorrow night's concert is at the Tractor Tavern - well worth the drive, I promise.)

Seriously, they are made of awesome (and I'm not the only one who thinks so). More Western than country, and solid all around. Plus, Canadian! What's not to love?

(From Corb's website: "He calls his music scruffy country©, ulterior country©, dissident country©, subversive country©, insubordinate country©, non-toxic country©, or post apocalyptic modern traditional western music with some hair on it©. Take your pick.")

Sadly, my plans tonight involve going to dinner with my coworker, as I'm in teh exciting town of Oklahoma City! Ah well. Dinner on the company.
