Spike's Bitches 32: I think I'm sobering up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Always Anti-fascist!

That doesn't make me sound like I'm Too Good, does it? Because I'm not. My mother has had every crap job, ever.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Yeah, erika, I think one of the things that strikes me most about you is how stuck-up and holier-than-thou you are.

By which I mean to say, no. Possibly hell no. t checks Yep, hell no.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Nope, erika. Just a good description of the rock and the hard place.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

the fact my saying "I'm a journalism school graduate" leads people to say "Guess you can type a lot then." and not much else.)

You want REAL fun? Say "I'm a journalism-school graduate" to an engineer.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

USians without any dependents who would just like some flextime in order to have lives that don't entirely revolve around the convenience of their corporate overlords -- that's just craxy talk.)

The Evil Empire is so-so on this. Theoretically we have flex time, but management is much happier if they're given vast amounts of forwarning AND if you don't take advantage of it very often.

Yeah, erika, I think one of the things that strikes me most about you is how stuck-up and holier-than-thou you are.

Wait, we don't think this? Man, no one forwards the memos to me.

In other words, erika, you worry too much about this. You don't sound stuck-up or that you think You're All That, you sound understandably exasperated and frustrated.

IOmoneyN, we got the check from stuff that should put a major dent in CC debt. but I can think of so many fun things to do with it. Which is odd, because I don't usually get that way. luckily, the shower seems to have brought back the practical me...

And massively unwilling to ask strangers to get their carpet cleaned. Anyone who knows me would be looking for the dirty part if I asked them about their rugs. Okay, a little red-state defensiveness about "turning down work" there. I'm willing to pay *my* dues. Just not everyone else's too.ETA: New tag's so appropriate!

Oh, and I offer a distraction for people. Saturday night was a late birthday party for a friend of mine, and the theme was Victorian/Steampunk/Zombies.

Me, and me tidying up one of the hosts.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Jilli, you guys look so fucking awesome.

Man, I don't even want to get into the crap the US hands us when it comes to maternity leave and childcare. Not just the laws around it, but the attitudes. The military attitude was enough to make me choke and finally contributed to driving me out of the Navy. Fuck. That. Shit.
