Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

GUESS WHAT I'M GETTING ON MONDAY???

A NEW KITTEN!!

She's an orange, longhaired tabby.

Her name is currently Blondie, but as of Monday, her name will be Pryde. Or Anani. But probably Pryde.

A frickin' walkoff! In the ninth!

I don't know. Do you want me to say UP YOUR ASS WITH A MARLIN SPIKE?

Nah, it's okay. Tigers played better. I just wanted to see Zito pitch one more game in Green and Gold. Note to Barry Zito: It is NEVER cool to join the Yankees as a free agent. In fact, I put a curse on any player that joins the Yankees as a free agent that they won't win a championship, and that curse has been working since 2001.

On the plus side, Haren pitched a great game and Milton kicked serious ass this series. Also, Kotsay had a chance to shine (two amazing plays in yesterdays game) to show the rest of the country what a fantastic centerfielder he is.

We'll be good next year. We could use one more power hitter in the lineup, though.

Because books.

Suzi and Hec, I feel your pain. I can't watch tonight's game at all.

The Tigers outplayed and outmanaged the A's. I thought we had a good shot at today's game, but alas.

Next year I'm more interested in a different manager than a new power hitter, though both would be nice too.

I'm not sure what Macha did wrong except go to Street too early. But without Duke, we're kind of handcuffed. The loss of Ellis was hard, but frankly the A's hitters set a record for double-plays and that was way worse. This team had to play its absolute best to beat the Twins, which they did. They played less than that to the Tigers (a better team than the Twins) and they lost accordingly.

We need more power. We can't live on Kotsay and Payton's doubles. Maybe plug Swish into left, DJ at first (and hope he does okay) and a full season of Bradley and hope that Frank can stay healthy again? I dunno. We'll be okay without Zito if Harden can stay healthy (which is hardly a safe bet). Funny how I'm not even factoring Crosby into the mix, when I could have a plus defense shortstop with 20+ HR power in the lineup. Just can't count on that anymore.

I think Gaudin moves into the rotation.
