I should comment on stuff. I did read. Hugs and ~ma all around.

I had SO much fun today. Breakfast with Chicago~istas. Beautiful outdoor wedding. Fabulous reception. Saw some people I haven't seen in four years. Drank more than I should have, but there was no appearance of my Southern identity. Danced SO MUCH. Fun. Mucho fun.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

And I'm just home as well from one of the nicest days I've had in a long time.

After brunch, Sail and ChiKat and I hit Lush and assorted other shops, including a "chocolate lounge." Then we headed up to my 'hood for a little mani-pedi action. We had to wait a while, but made it to the neat little tea shop down the street just before torrential rains started up. Which had cleared by the time we headed back.

The salon by my house is neat - the chairs for the pedi are massage chairs. And cheap, too!

I had to head off to work for a bit, but it was fairly quick and painless. Home in time for a brief nap, and then met up again with C and S and tommyrot for a marvelous tapas dinner, and then a very entertaining improv show.

Now they're on the road back to ChiKat's, I'm on the couch all begronked and relaxed, and looking forward to a lazy day tomorrow.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

We are home now and it was a really fantastic day. I heartily agree with brenda about this being one of the nicest days I've had in a long time.

I also am in love with the word "begronked."

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

Libkitty, what are your October Monterey dates?

Arrive evening of the 20th, leave on the 26th. I'll probably have evenings mostly free, but the 26th is the only daytime. I can't remember what time I leave, but I'm flying out of San Jose, so I'll need to leave Monterey a few hours early, natch. I hope we can connect! It's possible that Java Cat may come down for a couple of days at the beginning, but it's looking less likely.

move out and draw fire

Happy for nice days and coming home from the hospital and good pain meds and massage chairs and drinking at weddings!

The DH is getting ready to take off for a week in the States. Work-related, but it means he'll get to attend the US version of the wedding I went to in Moldova, which is great. And he'll be in the States for the start of the playoffs, which makes him happy.

I posted this in Movies, but for those of you who don't read that thread, would you help me playtest a quiz for our Halloween party? It's about horror movies, and it's in my LJ: [link] Ta ever so.

Raq, I read that in LJ, but am a horror-movie-avoider, so...

I had a lovely lovely evening last night, somewhat unexpectedly. Though I may be deaf now--went to see a friend's band play, adn they were fabulous fun, but SO freaking LOUD. In a small bar way out in the burbs. But, another friend drove me, so I got pretty drunk, and there was birthday cake for someone I didn't know, who instead of being spanked, began giving spankings (which was lots of fun), and then someone I'm kinda crushing on showed up, and was adorable and danced with me and I got my flirt on...yay.

And then I came home and had interesting dreams. Not porny, and good, but....weird.

I should like, eat something, and do laundry and stuff. But I'm kinda shocked my head isn't killing me...

You and me both!

I'm awake. No. Really. I am. Must have coffee and shower and go see grandparents.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I've got to clean up my apartment and take a shower and figure out what to wear for services tonight. Also, need to figure out what to eat for pre-fast dinner. I really need to go grocery shopping -- my choices seem to be pierogis or frozen enchlada dinner. Maybe I'll have both.

Also, need to try to figure out where to light candles. Every flat surface in my apartment is in the path of some draft, so I don't like lighting candles and then going to services while they're still burning. Someone suggested putting the candlesticks in the kitchen sink and lighting them there. Might try that.

Randomly from back: Yay Gris watching Joan of Arcadia! Sniff. I kinda miss that show. Though I wasn't a huge fan of some of the Season 2 stuff. :(

I'm in a bored and chatty mood, and no one is posting! What, are you out enjoying the lovely weather and a lazy Sunday afternoon?? Getting shit done? Come ON, people!

I've decided I should leave the house before I have to go to rehearsal (5pm), especially since I know rehearsal is going to frustrate the hell out of me (it's a very very chaotic process...and the show is really really important and prestigious and it will be embarassing if we suck....and it's three weeks from yesterday. FUCK!).
