Spike's Bitches 32: I think I'm sobering up.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
There is no possible reason you should refrain from telling your here-is-one-of-the-glories-of-teaching story just because I gave a here-is-why-teaching-sucks-big-donkey-balls sermon!
Every single prospective teacher should get this tattooed somewhere on his or her body.
It's a bit wordy.
Oh oh oh, I have to share -- one of my students today told me to "get off [her] nuts." I responded with the ever-classic "excuse me?" and she quickly amended her statement.
Fay! We had the Supernatural premiere today!
ENVYENVYENVYENVYENVY!!! Ngah! And I want
Numb3rs
more than I can say.
weeps
Fay, my father (he of the Cairo trips) will be traveling through Bangkok soon (apparently having decided that one shouldn't let 40 years go by without a trip to Thailand), and this just seems like TOO much of a coincidence. So tell me what small token you want brought to you from the United States, and I shall commission my father to get it to you, because clearly some sort of offering should be made to the gods of coincidence to show that we've noticed.
FanTAStic!
Johnny Depp springs to mind. But that's probably not going to happen, is it? Um. Bangkok pretty much HAS everything, really...um...I mean we even have gazillions of
Starbucks
and
Dairy Queens
and
Seven Elevens
and all that...hmm
I have consulted with Khun Bun, my Teaching Assistant, and we can't actually think of anything. But I
would
be delighted to whisk him off out for dinner, if he's so inclined. That would be cool.
Meanwhile, I bought Season 1 of
Bones
and of
Prison Break
yesterday. Can anyone recommend
One Tree Hill
or
Ghost Whisperer
or anything else?
I'm awake.
I slept, for those of you playing the home game.
I've got 5 more pages to fill on this ass-fucking pantsy bollocking paper (name to be amended at will).
And about 6 hours till I have to be child-ready
The paper needs to be mailed today.
Good morning, nightshift!
And I want Numb3rs more than I can say.
If your internet access is fast enough to handle streaming video, the last episode is available from the CBS website. Go to [link] and click "All shows," then "Full Episodes."
Wee Matilda is so beautiful!
Talked to Mom yesterday, my brother is moving back home about Oct 15 instead of the end of November. My brother and his fiancee that is. Mom's panicked because she isn't ready for them and next weekend will be taken up with the wedding of her bestfriend's daughter. This weekend is going to be a mad craze of "Do I need? Do I love it? Does it make me money?" (some organizational guru's mantra a coworker has been quoting all week).
Also my brother and FSIL have picked up more sponsors, they are now getting their spray skirts and are in talks about getting kayaks! All very exciting.
Matilda is -- as expected -- utterly beautiful in her squoosh-faced-ness. Sweet baby girl!!!
Emily, your tagline ("Kneel before Zod!") reminds me that I saw a commercial for Smallville in which Lex says "Kneel before Zod!" in this tone that had me thinking "Just show me where, baby." GUH.
t edit
Of course, it also had me thinking -- yet again -- how Queer As Folk is less gay than Smallville.

Must rent some Smallville in my spare time.
Skipping madly to say:
1. Matilda is just GORGEOUS!
2. I'm going dark for a long weekend in Chicago. Hope everyone has a good weekend!
I can't believe Ellie is so big already. That's crazy. She'll be breaking little boy hearts all over the place real soon.
Thank you for posting a pic of Matilda and JZ, Hec. They both look so very exhausted, but so very lovely.

I watched that scene last night! I was rushing to clean the kitchen before Grey's started and Smallville was just sort of my background noise. But I made sure to catch that specific scene, in all of its glory.
What do people have planned for the weekend? Exciting stuff? Lazy stuff?
Saturday night'll be a continuation of birthday celebrations (YAY! More gifties!), but the remainder of the weekend I'm going to try to get rid of a ton of crap - cleaning out the closets and the dressers and the cupboards and (ugh) the freezer. So very exciting.
eta: Have a great time, vw!
