Zoe: Yeah? Thought you'd get land crazy that long in port. Wash: Probably, but I've been sane a long while now, and change is good.

Spike's Bitches 32: I think I'm sobering up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Trust my rage

imagine how hard the waiting is for JZ and Hec

I hope my sarcasm came through. I was sort of chuckling at us. I can't imagine being in the hospital this long. (In fact, I don't think I was.)

move out and draw fire

I just ran down to the med unit to get decongestant for Mallory, and I was really hoping there would be a new Buffista when I got back!

My deathFlu is better, I guess. I didn't sleep much all weekend so I'm exhausted. I'm torn between wanting Mal to get better so he's not snotting all over, and dreading him being up to full energy levels with me still sick.

I did get into it today at work - another baby also has the flu, and his dad stayed home with him. A couple of my co-workers were muttering because the mother, who also works at the embassy, should have been the stayer: "Who wears the pants in that family?" Sexism, alive and well in pockets of the USG.

Because books.

I hope my sarcasm came through. I was sort of chuckling at us.

Oh, I know! I just really *am* impatient, and I have to keep reminding myself, "This is not all about you." Poor JZ is probably exhausted and out of her mind by now.

Sexism, alive and well in pockets of the USG.

Oh dear.

I was hoping some of that had changed by now, Raq. That's more or less a variant of what I went through in the Navy as a single parent. Women weren't expected to take any time off for sick kids, but men who were single parents got all the sympathy and time off they wanted. As if single parenting is supposed to be easier for women than for men. Geez. My current boss stays home with his son more than his wife does and I think that is super cool.

Trust my rage

Oh, I know!

(oh, good. I live in fear of being misunderstood on the internet.)

Poor Ellie is so tired of this stupid laptop. I usually try not to use it too much during the day, esp. b.org, but today I cna't help getting up to check every few minutes.

Raq, I'm glad you are feeling better and I hope improves soon. It sucks so much when you are both sick at the same time.
