'Not Fade Away'
Spike's Bitches 32: I think I'm sobering up.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I love the motivational posters. If I had more time, I'd make some myself.
ION, I started up with low-flying trapeze again (lessons a b'day present) and OMG OW OW OW everything hurts but especially my hands, forearms, biceps, shoulders, backs of knees! It is the most painful ... not sport exactly...not dance either...circus art?
Hey! My S-i-L does that! It's really pretty to watch.
"I will cut you." Hee!
What's left for the rest of the Bitches?
What about cool husbands?! And OMGSOCUTE!!! babies? Plus, you know, all those other great things everybody does.
I did the low flying trapeze for a while a couple of years ago and then a friend was in a production of Midsummer Night's Dream this summer where the cast took low flying classes with my old teacher (I think she's the only one in town) and the play was amazing. My best friend (not the bad roommate one) really wanted to do the class and wanted me to take it with her but I begged off due to finances. So she and other best friend (the former bad roommate actually) got the classes for my b'day. I hope best friend ends up enjoying it. I think she knew it would be hard but secretely hoped she'd be able to do it all right away. And there's no way. It's really, really hard! But I know from my previous experience doing it that one can pick up some of the skills pretty fast and it's not long before you are doing things that are really pretty. It was highly rewarding to someone like me who has never excelled at anything athletic.
But it's a mixed level class so there are some people there who are doing crazy Cirque du Soleil things I'd never be able to do and that's fine with me. I just enjoy watching them. But I think my friend was intimidated. (This is the same woman who had twins 6 months ago and rode 140 miles over 2 days for a benefit when they were 3 months old...she sets high standards for herself.)
I think he'll kick my ass, but: [link]
That needs to be a t-shirt.
Now.
