Ben's going into fifth grade, but that's Middle School, in our town (it isn't in any of the surrounding towns, and I hate that it is, in our town).
Spike's Bitches 32: I think I'm sobering up.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I just got into a bit of a row with our building's handyman, as they've been doing a lot of work on the apartment. Work that needs to be done, mind you, but it includes a lot of paintin, and I'm quite concerned about the effects of the fumes on S's health right now.
The handyman tried to say that the building inspector (who ordered these repairs) doesn't care about our problems. I told he can get me the damned phone number, and I'll make him care.
Hi everyone.
Just got back from Maine. It was a fun trip -- lay on the beach and read The Thornbirds, went boogie-boarding, drooled over some surfboards that there's no way I can afford to buy, walked through a wildlife preserve and failed to see a single animal, went shopping, ate yummy food, went roller-blading, and generally relaxed. Also went kayaking and nearly hit a Coast Guard boat, but then a few minutes later, we were nearly hit by a Secret Service boat. (W was in K'port this weekend. Security was nuts -- way more than I remember from when his father was president.)
Hil, how was the weather over the weekend? We left York, Friday, to be home for a family reunion.
Go you with the fierce and protective, Sean.
Emmett and I are slounging about watching Venture Brothers all on our own, because Hec is an utterly sterling human being and has gone to drive Emily to Bed Bath & Beyond and Trader Joe's. She called looking for assistance in tracking down a shower curtain, and sounded all sorts of wiped out and overwhelmed with the move and unpacking and the school year starting tomorrow morning, so now she's getting a chauffeur for household goods and treatful foods. She has a cat and everything, but Hec doesn't care.
t crushing on own husband
Wrod, minus the "Big Love" overtones...he's all yours, JZ.
All mine, until you move out here as is only right and proper, and then he can escort you and your mom on a shower curtain expedition.
As can I, if my doctor ever lets me leave the apartment again.
Hil, how was the weather over the weekend?
Friday was raining in the morning but then cleared up, though it was still pretty cold all day. We left Saturday morning, when it was pretty nice out, though still cooler than usual. We stopped in Kittery for shopping on the way back (I got a gorgeous blazer, normally $130, that was marked down to $20 -- they had one left, in my size, and it fit perfectly), and it was fairly nice most of the time there. We stayed over in Lowell last night and then drove the rest of the way home today -- raining the entire time.
oh good. I was a little worried about Emily - It is hard getting around the bay area if you are from the east coast - somehow the thinking is different when they designed the road system. and she is at an overwhealming number of life style changes. but she did get to see some of the Niles crazy fleamarket weekend.
IOn , DH is silly - he got two hours of sleep last night - helped sunil move and did a lot of walking in the last 48 hours - and he is apologizing for being tired. I got 4 hours of sleep - walked 40 billion miles , and didn't help anyone move. I can barely stay awake. I am just trying to make him stay awake a bit longer so he doesn't wake up at stupid o'clock am , and screw up his schedual for the week.
I'm not so sure about that...uh, besides your being able to leave again, that is. Mom seems to be okay with life among the hooples. And I need more money or time machine to take me to Hammett days so that my stupid check would stretch.
