Looks like civilization finally caught up with us.

Spike's Bitches 32: I think I'm sobering up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I am honestly much less bothered by the holiday thing than the lockdown thing.

The only thing that bothers me about the lockdown is the fact that that program is sharing space with a company that shouldn't have to share their lockdown.

I totally get that the program needs the security. My sister works in the DFCS and some of the issues with supervised visitation can get extremely scary. And that goes without saying when you're dealing with abusive parents.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

So noted.

Well, the company S works for (a non-profit org) runs this program.

Jilli--dont' read the whitefont!

So it seems that two HUGE, NASTY, HAIR spiders have taken up residence on our front porch. Building large and elaborate webs. I'm incredibly freaked out and DH is refusing to evict them. I'm scared to go out and check the mail. This is going to end soon.

ION, I think I need to cut out the tags on Owen's shirts. He's started tugging on the tags and now takes them off whenever I'm not looking. I suspect tag itch.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Also, in unrelated news, boys are confusing.

It's because they're made of stoopid.

(no offense intended to boys present, they have clearly overcome their impairment)

Ah. That's less disturbing. But honestly, they should be making renovations to the building to meet the security needs of the program without sacrificing the convenience of their other employees. Really.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

What about the standard 15 min. break for every four hours worked, plus at least 30 min. for lunch if you're there for six hours?

Breaks over and above the meal break are not mandatory, but if they are provided, are paid time, unlike the meal.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Coming in late, but adding a thought on the vacation issue. Vortex's contact may have referred to that statute as "the statute in MA on employee compensation." And, since it's silent on vacation issues, there's in effect no statute in MA on vacations.

But that's just my theory.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

the lock down thing sounds really bad.

Haven't heard from DH since he went into work. Hopefully thismeans he has found something that is working and that by the end of today he has a good handle about what is going on. I just want this to go way smoother than he expects it to. and as a bonus, I want his co to recognize him for the BigDamnhero that he is, and not be stupid. Sadly, that might be a dream .

Matt deserves an award, beth. I hope things are going ok for him.
