Wow, you've really mastered the power of positive giving-up.

Spike's Bitches 32: I think I'm sobering up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Also, I can probably offer the couch at my sister's place if you think you want to stay over.

That would be awesome! I wasn't sure how late I'd be able to stay if I had to drive home Saturday night. Let me know for sure if it's cool with your sister.

GC, I'm betting you rock that haircut better than Posh does. ::taps toe waiting for real picture of new haircut::

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

I will post when I have pix. My stylist had to flat iron it to make sure the lines were straight and that's not my favorite look for my hair. When I style it, I think it's gonna look even better! I like to have at least a little fullness.

Mostly lurking...

Just got home from packing mom up to go home. She's on her way to her own bed, where I am sure she will sleep better than the hospital.

Now I must get my ass in gear and take care of everything I've let go this week...including school stuff.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Glad she's out of the hospital, vw.

I got my hair cut and it looks pretty much exactly like this: [link] I think I love it. I got tons of compliments while getting it cut at the salon.

We can give you tons of compliments!

I can't wait to see your version of that cut, GC. I'm not a huge fan of using flatirons, either.

vw, that's great news! Even though hip replacements are fairly common, it's still surgery and the attendent complications thereof can be scary. Don't forget to give yourself a little time to decompress while you tackle all those chores.

Damn, it looks like she's going to be out of town that weekend. But we can have the apartment.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Sail, link for your daughter: [link] It's a lay-person's primer on FLUTD, well-researched, and far more informative than anything I have gotten from talking with three vets and the Googling I could manage, with emphasis on the type of FLUTD with struvite crystals. One of the most important points is that if the vet offers a dry acidifying diet (to combat the struvite crystals), it's because s/he knows not whereof s/he speaks. Wet food plus lots of water is crucial. (I mix in a bunch of water with Harvey's canned food to make sure he is getting enough.)

Andi, thanks! I marked your post so I could print some of that stuff out for my daughter. It was interesting about the breathing connection because Tucker does something similar to what Harvey does, he can sound nearly asthmatic sometimes when he purrs. I haven't paid enough attention to figure out if there's any stress correlation, but I'll mention that to my daughter, too.

I know that in Harvey's case, the vast majority of the stress in his life, really is not his own. He really picks up on mine, and now Daniel's, stress.

Now, that is interesting. Makes me wonder how Tucker survived so long living with both me and Alexia!

Brenda, let me know what kind of booze your sister likes. I'll leave her a little prezzie for providing digs. Sorry to miss meeting her, though!
