I like pancakes 'cause they're stackable. Ooo, and waffles 'cause you can put things in the little holes if you wanted to.

Spike's Bitches 32: I think I'm sobering up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

I haven't greeted SCube yet. Greetings!

I can't see the link since I'm still at work, but I'm looking forward to checking out the Teptattoo when I get home.

YAY for Cass seeing the neicelet!

YAY for happy birthdays for Kara and Trudy!

GC, I am also insanely jealous but so very happy for you and GF for having such a wonderful trip.

In meme news, I think I may have dislocated my shoulder, or at least really f-ed it up. I am in serious pain, and yet I have no idea how I managed to injure it. It was fine this morning, but a few hours later I went to pick something up and was OMGWTF in so much pain I could barely breathe. If I just sit here quietly, it's a dull ache. The second I try to move it, it hurts like hell. It even hurts when I try to open a door, but I can't imagine it hurts enough for it to really be dislocated. Maybe it's just pinching a nerve? In any case, I have a 4PM chiro appointment tomorrow, but tonight is not going to be fun, especially since ND is out of state. t /whine

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Beautiful tattoo, Teppy!

Cass, continued ~ma to kittenish. I'm glad you got to see the neicelet and the rest of the family.

Kara's birthday sounds like it was tons of fun.

Happy Birthday Trudy!

Happy Birthday Tyrone!

{{Kristin}} Shoulder pain is of the suck. It might also be that you strained the rotator cuff somehow. It's incredibly painful without dislocating bones.

GC, your vacation sounds fab! But, I think I want SCube's foot rub. In Italy. I never got anything like that on the trains in Spain, drat it all.

Teppy! Bee-yoo-tee-ful tattoo!

Ow, Kristin. That sounds like no fun. Perhaps drugs will help you last until the chiro? Do you have a muscle relaxer?

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Fuck the muscle relaxer; go for the Vicodin. Or two-fist it. Yeoch!

Tep, LOVE the tat! It's beautiful!

Also, I am ridiculously pleased with myself, cause I just came up with a great final project for the self-selected books my Appreciation of Lit class are reading:

Pimp My Book!

You know how it goes – your ride may get you where you want to go, but it doesn’t catch any eyes, make anyone say “Hey!” when you drive past. So what do you do? You call PIMP MY RIDE and they trick your car out, and make it an eyecatcher.

Books can be like that old, reliable, but boring car; you know it’s a good book, but maybe it’s catching no one’s attention.

Your job:
Pimp Your Book!

The final project for your first book in Appreciation of Literature makes you have to sell the book to a group of teachers – they need a new book to teach next year in their high school English class at AV, and you are going to have to sell your book to them – you know, pimp out your book! You are going to be collecting information you will use in your final sales pitch throughout the reading of your book, in your responses and other assignments.

• Book cover
• Plot summary
• Setting Description
• Character Biographies and Photos/Illustrations
• Themes
• Selling points to make kids want to read it, and teachers want to teach it
• Cautions for teachers (sex, violence, language, racism)
• Memorable Quotes (4)
• A review from a reputable critic
• Short persuasive paragraph

Then, you’re gonna have to get creative. Down and dirty – you’re playing to win. How are you going to present all this information to your prospective buyers – how are you gonna trick out your book, out of all the books everyone’s reading in this class, and make sure your sales pitch SHINES?
