'Objects In Space'

Spike's Bitches 32: I think I'm sobering up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Thrive to spite them

I have to pop in to brag about my brother. He and his finacee are planning to kayak from Texas to Maine, I think I've mentioned that before, and they have a website up -- Kayak Journeys [link] The logo is also my brother's tattoo.

They just got their first corporate sponsorship! And they are working with a video production company to make a documentary about their trip.

What is even happening?

That's not just to Maine. Unless I'm remembering incorrectly, Calais is at the Canadian border, although considering it's already a trip from Texas to Maine, I guess another 300 miles or so is no biggie. WOW.

Thrive to spite them

When they first mentioned it we were kind of like "oh. okay." and then we learned more about the trip and all they are planning to do and it really is impressive. There are all kinds of logistics besides getting gear and supplies replenished, they've also be in contact with kayak clubs for infomration about how to safely get through busy commercial port areas.

ETA: I'm really in awe of both of them as well.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Erin, there might be jogging, but probably in place. They'll teach you stance, basic strikes, and maybe a defense against chokes or the like.

Oh, god. Does it make me a bad person that I would much rather they just throw an armed mugger at us and laugh, than yell "Now...JOG!"?

Cause, I could deal with an armed mugger. I figure I could blind him with flaming hairspray and garrotte him with my bra.

They sound very prepared. I hope the doctumentary deal goes through.

Ali, that's a pretty ambitious trip.

Thanks for the sewing suggestions! I don't want to buy a machine, both for the space, and knowledge that I'd buy a bunch of fabric and not use it.

I hate hate hate hearing things third hand that confirm things I already was wondering/worrying about. Damnit. And why can't I get over the punch in the gut? And will I get a chance to inflict some pain back, because I really really want to? Sigh. Damnit.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Definitely very, very cool, Askye!
