Reavers ain't men. Or they forgot how to be. Now they're just nothing. They got out to the edge of the galaxy, to that place of nothing, and that's what they became.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

One of them fancy ultra-detailed photo-quality ultrasounds? (Which, frankly, I am glad I didn't have, on account of they give me the creeps.)

I expect so. I found the first one with 3-D imaging to be kind of weird too.

I came back to the living room and had this conversation with JZ:

Me: Did you just burp?
JZ: No. I was just moving my mouth the way she was moving her mouth in the sonogram.

::gives demontration. Presses lips together. Purses them. Pops them open into a fish-kiss::

It's the sepia face-against-glass quality that disturbs me.

I mean, sure, your standard issue ultrasound image is straight out of Poltergeist, but that's somehow less creepy to me.

Ours was disturbing because parts of the image of her head were missing. The sono-tech had to say, "I assure you that your child's head does not look like an ashtray!" The whole forehead section was like a cutaway into the brain. It was just a gap in the system picking up the sonogram data. (Her head is perfectly intact and normal.) Also, the imaging makes her look animatronic and plastic coated.

Hee!

Okay, that would be disturbing, yes.

The closest to disturbing any of Lillian's scans were was the Ultra Close Up It's a Girl! moment during the final full scan before my induction. That scan was cool, though, because she'd been holding her pee, and that allowed the tech to get a very detailed view of the cord insertion site, where everything was distinct and clear. She geeked out about it, too.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

School work done. Bed now. 6 soon.

Yay for poofy haired Halloweenie. I'm glad both mother and baby are doing well.

Bleh. Why is mention of psycho ex v 1.0 such a fucking trigger? I know we still have mutual friends. Most of whom are people I don't see often. Most of whom I intentionally didn't flist because of it. Sadly, one that I do have flisted saw him recently and mentioned it in her LJ tonight. And now I'm a heart-racing, hands-shaking mess.

I just want to pretend he's not on the same planet as I am. Is that so wrong? And I'm irrationally terrified of him coming into my virtual personal space.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Is that so wrong?
Absolutely not. He should basically disappear from your world.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Is that so wrong?

Nope. Psycho ex's should have the grace to completely vanish from one's world, and never be mentioned again.

Cass, I'm glad the vet is optimistic about Kittenish. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for good news.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Probably redundant, but on the off chance Cindy wants to see it again... Pam and Jim moments on YouTube from the NBC promo.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Ok. Now? I'm just pissed off.

ALL last year, I only watched one show. One. GA. That's it. I would occasionally catch other shows from time to time. Like, The Office. I fell in love with it. I started watching mostly every week. Bought the finale from iTunes. Now, I hooked. Ok, so I add The Office to "My Shows" (the list I keep in my head).

Then, because we happen to get SpikeTV with our basic cable (what a perk, I know!), I've now gtten hooked on CSI:The Original. I watched the season 6 marathon, I'm mostly caught up, I add it to "My Shows".

What do find out?

CSI is on Thursdays at 9.
Grey's Anatomy is on Tursdays at 9.
The Office is on Thursdays at 9:30.

They ALL PREMIERE ON 9/21!!

throws big hissy fit

Life was so much easier when all my favorite shows got cancelled after 5 or 6 episodes. It appealed to the commitment-phobe in me.
