Spike's Bitches 32: I think I'm sobering up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Have you ever had one of those friends who was really nice and sweet and mostly thoughtful, but you kind of feel like if y'all were in grade school she'd have walked in your room and begun to go through all your things. She'd be complimenting you on them and stuff, but you'd be all "BACK OFF Handsy McGrabbygrab." And now she's all growed up and you still feel like you need to wrest your life from her overenthusiastic hands?

Worst thing is you can never explain to anyone else why they make you itchy.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

And now she's all growed up and you still feel like you need to wrest your life from her overenthusiastic hands?
Yep. And no idea what to do about it either.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

It's also such a sitcom cliche. You know? Main character finds someone they like to hang out with, they hang. Main character introduces the someone to the supporting characters. The someone and the supporting characters get along really well, and by the time main character realizes something has gone horribly wrong, supporting characters can't understand why she's being such a bitch to their new best friend.

Of course main character usually learns something valuable from the someone and that they weren't that bad after all, so maybe I should just shut my main character mouth.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

vw, get away from the lights and sleep. I have no idea if caffeine helps me, and mint risks making it much worse. But when I can convince myself to lie the fuck down with my eyes closed, it's never a bad deal.

Me, I'm startled that I managed to go hours between learning of an instructor's death and the onset of a migraine. Finally, I get to feel a strong emotion without it bringing on immediate pain, and it's this one?

Thanks, world.

Mostly lurking...

Yeah, bed is very soon. Sitting curled up on the couch with Toto in a completely dark apartment, except for my computer screen. Which, is stupid, but I've really been trying to stay up till 9 to kind of reset my sleeping schedule to a more reasonable one. Guess this is a night I could let myself go to bed early.

Sorry to hear about the instructor, ita. That's awful.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

{{vw}} and {{ita}} - both for good measure.

So Em just got into trouble. She kept taking her Cheerios out of her bowl and throwing them on the ground and stomping on them. She got a warning and then got put in her naughty spot. She wouldn't sit in the naughty spot so she got put in her crib. She started jumping in her crib, so she got a swat on the back of her leg. She cried a bit. Then, I went in to get her after she stopped crying. I sat her down, told her what she did wrong and why mommy was upset and asked her to say sorry. She said, "Sorry!" grinned, laughed and then said, "You're funny!"

All is well that ends in pizza.

She said, "Sorry!" grinned, laughed and then said, "You're funny!"

This is just so wrong.
