Spike's Bitches 32: I think I'm sobering up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Ok, I totally shouldn't care about this but, I do.

At Soul Sucking Job, they wouldn't let me have business cards - they said it was unneccessary. Also, my title was "Associate Accountant", even though my duties were that of a "Property Accountant". But the "Property Accountant" was in Philly.

New girl? Yeah. Business cards and the title.

Like I said, it shouldn't bug, but it does.

Always Anti-fascist!

Hec, maybe Emmett will grow up to be a Farrelly type and support you with those poop jokes. But hopefully, he may learn time and place in the meantime. It's raining here, which is nice, but my life still sucks, which is not.

We are on day #4 of classes. There are a total of 5 comments in the library's all-purpose comment book. Two of them are students stressing because they're scared they won't have a job when they graduate, and another is from someone who has a 6-figure offer but isn't sure s/he wants to take it.

I hope this isn't an indication of the year ahead, because I feel nothing for them.

(There is also the all purpose, "I got to make the first comment!" comment, and someone asking if they should go to class or the A's game next Monday night.)

someone asking if they should go to class or the A's game next Monday night

Well, that is a tough decision. I mean the Red Sox are coming into town. And it is the A's, I mean - come on. It is not like there will be another chance to see the A's play the Red Sox. Well, other than Tuesday and Wednesday, but that doesn't count. Priorities, people.

The advice he got was to go to the game, of course. Those of us who have the wisdom gained from years of experience know that a baseball game is more important than class.

My 2 cats, who normally hate each other, are currently "hiding" under the comforter right next to each other. I'm dying to put my head under and look but they are already scared, so I'll be nice and leave them alone.

ION, I booked an appt with my hairstylist! I'm stealing your haircut, Posh Spice!

Cocoa Puffs:

Is it weird that I like the way the black pedicure looks when it starts growing out? There's something kinda cool about fucked up black nail polish.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I missed this, somehow.

It's in the F2F thread.

Back from the hospital after an unscheduled visit. JZ thought the Halloweenie wasn't moving enough so they had us come in. Two hours, a sonogram and heart monitoring later - everything is fine.

Unintended consequence? Automatically added another week to bedrest. (Because they don't seem to actually assign bedrest based on a medical evaluation, but rather whenever the next appointment is. This unscheduled visit bumped our regular appointment on the 30th back by another week. Just like that.)

Fuck. On a scale of Zen Calm to Crazed Hillbilly my cabin fever is escalating towards Appalachian. (It all being compounded by the fact that Emmett's camp is done and he's with me all day until school starts next week.)

Emmett was a trooper, though and watched the sonogram with interest. Almost worth it for that.
