D'oh! I was so proud of managing to watch both the Vampire and Wizard Detective Shows last night AND get my mile and a third walk in, but I forgot all about the premiere of The Tudors! At least it re-airs a couple times tonight...

And matt, I think you can still stream it online from showtime's website.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

I've got the first three eps on DVD, but I haven't found time to watch them yet. Maybe tonight.

Slate described JRM's performance as not exactly dialled in. More dictated to a secretary who faxed it over after her lunch break.

Somewhat apt. But it's no less pretty for it.

after Rome, it was a bit of a tepid start

I'd have to agree. I'm trying to remind myself that I felt the same way after the first hour of Rome, though -- I had to take the words of people who'd seen more that it got better after the pilot eps.

Still, I've just watched the first hour of The Tudors and I'm not feeling the urge to watch the other two right now. It's not that it's bad, just not as involving as I'd hoped. (And Showtime's fake historical sex is worse than HBO's -- seriously, do these directors just not know which bits are supposed to fit together?)

Heh. My friend T and I looked at each other at the first gratuitous sex scene and were like, "He didn't take off his pants, did he?" "Nope, didn't even finish unbuttoning them." "Guess Henry's a hump monkey then."

I think it's one of those things I'll watch when the stuff I'm really eager to watch have their season finales. No urge, but interesting enough not to ditch right away.

But the mystery of why he had so much trouble fathering heirs is solved at last!

Got a question, folks. Can we talk about The Riches in here? I know it's not on Showtime or HBO, but it's the kind of programming that seems to fit with the other shows we *do* talk about in here.
