Premium Cable: The Cursing Costs Extra
[NAFDA] A thread for the discussion of all original programming on HBO, Showtime, Starz and other premium channels.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
So, I'm caught up through "Slapstick" on The Wire.
Aw, man, Prez.
I'm tempted to power through the rest of the season (assuming I've actually got it all), just to see what comes of everyone's fucked up situations.
OTOH, Rome! Got to find out what happens there, too.
I have much Prez love. Until this last season just past, I paid the price for it, too.
Kima's saying "Prez woulda loved this" when Lester was explaining how they'd get the tap - that was just a bummer.
Sigh. Gotta go with The Wire. If I watch Rome, then Rome will be over, and that's no good.
Well, it was very good, but I'm with you on the no-goodness of the over part. Wish there was more. With the BSG season finale airing tonight, what am I going to obsess about now? Two weeks until the beginning of the end of the Sopranos too.
I know! Stupid real world with economics and shit getting in the way of TV.
::hugs Season 4 of The Wire tight::
I'm so sad for Pullo - everyone he loves dies! On the other hand, Vorenus is probably happier dead. I want to watch the whole series again from the beginning to watch that relationship evolve from "level-headed Vorenus and his thug friend Pullo" to "violent but basically well-adjusted Pullo and his BATSHIT CRAXY FRIEND Vorenus."
Also want to watch Octavian grow up again.
I hope HBO has them all On Demand. I can watch them all again, too.
It really was great from start to finish.
"violent but basically well-adjusted Pullo and his BATSHIT CRAXY FRIEND Vorenus." Also want to watch Octavian grow up again.
Basically well-adjusted. Heh. He may be an amiable stone killer, but not someone to turn your back on unless you're someone he loves, and then, you're probably still dead, possibly by his hand. I liked Vorenus even to the end, a guy the gods had chosen to crap upon from a great height. He can't even run away from home without it all ending in shit and blood, but does what he sees as his duty to the bitter end.
I think Max Pirkis spoiled Octavian for me. He was too likeable. The guy playing the wooden megalomaniac Augustus just never clicked for me as the same person.
One other weird point, Pullo's son did look a lot like Gaius [gesture] Julius [gesture] Caesar. Clever little joke there.
Basically well-adjusted. Heh. He may be an amiable stone killer, but not someone to turn your back on unless you're someone he loves, and then, you're probably still dead, possibly by his hand.
Well-adjusted in a relative sense.
