Mrs Fletcher had some great performances, but ultimately you could tell the book it was based on was written by a man and had some male gaze issues.
I started His Dark Materials this week. I never read the book or saw the movie, but I'm really loving the show so far!
Get a load of the premise of Beforeigners, a six-part TV series coming to HBO next week from Norway.
The series takes place in Oslo, where suddenly there are several flashes of light in the sea in Bjørvika. The flashes of light turn out to be a worldwide phenomenon where people from the past suddenly emerge in the present - people from the Stone Age, the Viking Age and the 19th century. Fast forward to five years later, and the so-called "beforeigners" are struggling to integrate into modern Norwegian society.
A woman with Stone Age tattoos is found dead on a beach, and police investigator Lars Haaland is put in charge of the investigation. He is assigned the newly graduated police investigator, Alfhildr Enginnsdottir, formerly a shield-maiden in the 11th century, as his partner. She is the first in the police service with a "multi-temporal background".

I want this so bad! But I can't find it, it's not on HBO or HBO GO. grrr.
According to a TV critic I follow on Twitter, it's gonna be available in HBO on Feb 18. She describes the show as "bonkers". There is a trailer! [link]
I started watching Barry, since Hulu is making HBO shows available for a brief period of time. I wanted to watch because of Bill Hader, but I knew going in it wasn't going to be a show I was really going to get into. That was correct! But it does make for a good show to pick up around the house while it's on.
Is it just me or was this entire season of Westworld a giant pile of hot garbage?
I am not caught up, but have been pretty meh. But I also thought the second season was pretty bad.
I like the world building so I keep watching but I don't ever expect it to make sense or come together.
