But isn't setting someone on fire so much more dramatically satisfying?

Atropa?
While fire is my true love, it depends on what poison you use. You can get some really fun, with pretty colors! interesting effects if you pick the right poison. Plus, not as easy to trace to whodunit.
Or so I've read in books. Which I read for writing research. No other reason.
One of my friends used to do con security. She was working with Christopher Lambert once and noticed that his personal security was all women. She asked him why, and reportedly he said something like, "Because guys come at me with swords a LOT, and men will engage, every time. Women just take the idiots down."
Humanity's capacity for stupidity never ceases to amaze me. "Hey, I'm going to run at a semi-famous person with a weapon!" I'm not even sure what they think the best possible outcome of that scenario would be.
He probably should have passed on Highlander 2. I'm just sayin'...
Really, the first movie and the middle seasons of the TV show are the only parts of the Highlander franchise that are any good. Even Methos couldn't save the post-TV movies.
It didn't help that he randomly disappeared from that the middle of that last one without explanation, IIRC.
It was SO fun to read through all of the GoT posts! Some of y'all were on fire!

Theon is pretty much earmarked for a redemptive death in battle (saving one of the Starks -- probably Jon -- in a crucial moment) so this felt like the last scene between them together.
Tom Scola and DavidS LOLOLOLOLOL
I have now achieved maximum nerd.
Remember when Jon B. went to theremin camp? You have now reached that level.
DavidS
I'm down with the Iron Throne being melted.!!!!!!

I still think Arya and Tyrion have relative A-character death proof armour
Tom Scola
The Hound CANNOT die because CLEGANEBOWL.
msbelle
I ship Brienne and Jaime SO FUCKING HARD.I'm sorry.
VonnieK
I know the Night King threw up some fog or whatever, but couldn't Jon and Dany have had their dragons spit out some fire in the vague vicinity of the undead army BEFORE they breached the defenses?
THANK YOU!!!
Jessica
Did not appreciate Bran telling Theon "You're a good man" and then neglecting entirely to say "But if you wait five minutes you won't have to die, just hang tight until my sister gets here."Fucking Bran.
VonnieK
Brienne of fucking Tarth would NOT sob and beg her man not to leave her. AS IF.
THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!!
Amy
to hear her [Brienne] begging him to stay just killed it. Not that I don't sympathize on a purely "I'm in love and it's new and wonderful!" level, but the idea that she isn't joining the battle herself is just absurd.Preach it.
Jessica
It's not so much that he's [Jon's] a threat as the fact that there are no women writing this show is a threat.Exactly, exactly.

I can kind of see Brienne staying in Winterfell to keep Sansa safe, she will certainly be head of her Queensguard when Westeros realizes Sansa is the practical choice.
You'd fucking think, but Brienne stayed in King's Landing at the end. WTF.
Tom Scola
Jon NOPES the fuck out, and retreats not only from Kings Landing, but all the way back North, and then keeps going and goes to live in the wildlands with his best bud Tormund and his sidekick Ghost.!!!!!!
Katerina Bee
All I want from the last GOT episode is for Sansa to live through it. Winterfell needs someone to be the Stark.
Wish granted!
I hope y'all are watching Gentleman Jack on HBO. SO GOOD!!!!
