I realize that they have to paint in broad strokes with this handful of episodes left and we don't have time for the great game of intrigue BUT...

If I'm Tyrion I don't tell Varys about Jon's true parentage under any circumstances. I understand that Varys' loyalty is not to Daenerys but to what Varys thinks is best for the realm.

If I'm Varys I do not tell Tyrion that I'm planning on betraying Daenerys.

If I'm Tyrion I do not then tell Varys that they should be loyal to the Queen.

The right play then at that string of Things You Shouldn't Do, would be to say "Hmmm, I think you're right Varys. Let me think on how best to effectuate that" and then run to Dany and have Varys killed.

That's one kind of stupid.

The other kind of stupid is to fucking fly your dragons around in the daylight ooh la la, so free and powerful WHEN YOU KNOW THAT YOUR ENEMY ALREADY HAS THE MEANS TO SHOOT THEM OUT OF THE SKY.

Also, huge failure of Varys little birds not to get word back to him that they had these weapons which must have been pretty broadly known as they were mounted along the perimeter of the castle and on Euron's ships. Intel goddamit!

Possibly Varys knew and thought that eliminating a few dragons was his best way to control the situation.

Tyrion's attempt to appeal to Cersei's better instincts proves that Sansa was correct. He's a fool. His wish to limit casualties is also a weak hand to play in a seige.

Also, Jon proves himself to be a true Stark anyway by Doing The Right And Stupid Thing Which Gets People Killed. Here's hoping Sansa learned better from Littlefinger, and Arya's got a few faces left in her kit bag.

I just can't take Jon as a threat to Dany's rule seriously. It seems like such a non-problem.

Tyrion is doing pretty well upholding the Drinking but not so great at the Knowing Things. I'm not sure what Varys is really good for these days, other than giving Tyrion someone to talk to. He used to be so good at intrigue and whatnot!

Also, since Bran can warg into crows and see through the weirwood he should have fucking told them that they had giant crossbows.

Why hasn't Bran warged into anything and helped?

side note: I'm reading Reddit threads on the Bloodraven theory which posits that Bran himself as the 3ER is the main threat, that the Night King only attacked because Bran went south of the wall, that the Night King didn't kill Jon when he had him pinned down because the Azor Ahai is the backup plan to stop the 3ER. tldr: Bran keeps saying he's not Bran anymore because he's literally been replaced by the original Three Eyed Raven who escaped the Weirdwood where he'd been trapped by transmigrating into Bran.
