I too am addicted to the handmaid's tale. I was certain that Elisabeth Moss would get the Emmy for best actress, until I watched the last ep of the leftovers. OMG, Carrie Coon. Wow. She's been knocking it out of the park since the first season of this show. Gone Girl was lucky to get her. (She played the Ben Affleck's character's twin sister.) She is so good in everything, but boy howdy especially in the last episode.
I'm here to post this link, for anybody who binge watches the leftovers in the future and wants to geek out over how that perfect last ep was made. It's long and detailed and very interesting.
People who are into music may appreciate, that towards the end of the article, the 200 possible songs the music supervisor had provided to the producers at the start of the season that were not used are linked-to. I'm not a music person, I did not listen to them... It looks like you could hit play and it would go through all of them, but I could be wrong.

Carrie Coon is currently the lead in S3 of Fargo, and she's fantastic.
I think my all time favorite scene from The Leftovers was Carrie Coon and Regina King bouncing on a trampoline in slow motion to the Wu Tang Clan.
I'm going to miss this show so much!
My hubby and I just started Season 2 of Fargo, but I'm currently recording the Carrie Coon season.
She was the best thing about
Gone, Girl.
This is such a strange, worlds-colliding conversation.
I have been having a lot of fun with American Gods. The places where the show has done things differently than the novel have all been good changes, IMO.
WITH THAT SAID: next week's episode is the one they're going to have to work hard to win me over about casting. I adore Kristin Chenoweth, but she's not who I pictured a certain Personage looking like.
Weirdly, I actually pictured that character as Marilyn.
I don't remember that character well enough to know how I pictured her.
In the book, she's supposed to be voluptuous / chubby..
I have two new obsessions: I finally listened to Hamilton, and just keep playing and replaying it in my car. Newsflash, it's awfully good.
And the leftovers. I've now watched the last episode 4 times, and it knocks me out every time, Carrie Coon is that good. I kind of want to watch the entire series again. But that's not going to happen or at least not for a while. I suspect that the last three episodes of The Leftovers are the best movie made this year. That would be the Matt and Laurie taking the boat to Australia ep, the second International Assassin episode, and the final episode.
I found a thing about the Wu-Tang music in the trampoline episode. [link]
