"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Serpentine!

You may be sure that I was yelling "Serpentine!" during Rickon's entire run.

Because books.

I suppose that could give new meaning to her taunts that his family will be completely gone and forgotten.

Oooh, excellent.

Now I want to watch The In-Laws.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Fucking Starks. Too stupid to live.

Yeah, but, the purpose of Starks is not to survive or command armies or hold castles or rule, the purpose of Starks is to hold back the White Walkers from the lands of men and they only rule and hold castles and command armies and survive in order to further that cause. Evolutionarily speaking, that's what they are fit for.

Compassionately intolerant

I really...most sincerely...wish they had not used dogs, that look like modern Pit Bulls, to kill Ramsey.

The character totally deserved it and it was all manner of poetical, but yesh.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I haven't seen it yet, but apparently last nights two hour season finale of Penny Dreadful was actually a series finale. Don't go looking for articles on it unless you want to be very spoiled.

Because books.

Really, sj? That's so disappointing. I mean, it makes sense, but still. WANT MORE. (I haven't seen episodes 8 or 9 yet, and now I'm glad I can savor them. Sob.)

Yeah, the EP confirmed it to TVline, which is a very spoiler filled website for last night's episodes.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I was spoiled for part of Penny Dreadful thanks to email Showtime sent out.

My thoughts?

No happy ending. I knew, back in season 1, that this sort of outcome was the likely end game.

BUT DAMMIT I WANTED VANESSA AS THE MOTHER OF EVIL. I WANTED HER TO RULE IN MAGNIFICENT DARKNESS. WOULD IT HAVE KILLED YOU, JOHN LOGAN, TO GIVE US SEASON 4 WITH HER AS THE BIG BAD? TO HAVE GIVEN VANESSA A SEASON OF GLORIOUS EVIL and then maybe have her sacrifice herself to save the world?

I see how this end came about. It just wasn't the one *I* wanted.

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

I am just starting Penny Dreadful. I'm most of the way through Season 1 (I had to stop last night about halfway through the episode where Vanessa is possessed after sexy-times with Dorian Grey).

I really love this show, Timothy Dalton, the Creature (as much as I was upset about Proteus, the first Creature has won me over), and LOVE LOVE LOVE the Grand Guignol (as a theater person, does this surprise anyone?).

But above all of them is the brilliant white hot light of Eva Green. Holy crap is she mind-blowing in this.

And boy is it a little disconcerting to watch Rose as a consumptive prostitute.
