I haven't started watching Daredevil, yet but I'd advise you to go ahead and start talking, as Game of Thrones starts up again tomorrow. You'll just have to use your own best judgment as to how to handle any shocking reveals, I guess.
Premium Cable: The Cursing Costs Extra
[NAFDA] A thread for the discussion of all original programming on HBO, Showtime, Starz and other premium channels.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
We've watched the first ep, and I like Murdock & the fight choreography, but I have reservations that may or may not be well-founded. We're going to watch a couple more tonight.
Also, I've always pictured Daredevil as being either more stocky or taller - Charlie Cox has a slighter build than I like, but whatever.
I'm looking forward to Vincent D'Onfrio showing up.
I've watched the first three eps, and Ep 2 totally got me IN. I think it deals with backstory echoing modern story without a giant exposition anvil. I WANTED to see the flashbacks as much as the up-to-date stuff.
And the..(memfault) Paige?/secretary character was bugging me until I saw her name in the credits for the beginning of ep 2 and realized she was Jessica from True Blood, only a blonde instead of redhead.
I'm toy mainlining Daredevil. I've watched the first four eps so far. The fight scene at the end of episode two was possibly the best I've ever seen. The pace, the pain, the use of props. Wow!
I just discovered the "watchathon week" - yesterday. Second to last day - unable to catch up on Homeland but thoroughly enjoying Penny Dreadful.
Game of Thrones!
I'm reading up all kind of fan speculation about how certain characters in the book will have their storylines given to already established characters to streamline the narrative. Will be curious to get book readers takes on these.
Even though these are speculation, I'll spoilerfont:
1. Ariane Martell from the books, her storyline will go to Ellaria Sand in the show.
2. Young Griff from the books, his storyline will instead be taken up by Gendry.
3. The Kindly Man will instead be played by Jaqen.
These all make sense to me as they have to prune away a lot of new characters and narrative sprawl.
Number 3 makes sense, but I don't see how number 2 would work.
S5 isn't showing up in HBOGo. Not happy!

That was pretty terrific. It reminded me, in a way, of that long tracking shot in True Detective that everyone was talking about. Not technically, I assume, but in effect.
It's not HBO go its a new app- HBO stream or something.
Cersei was such a charming child, wasn't she?
