Premium Cable: The Cursing Costs Extra
[NAFDA] A thread for the discussion of all original programming on HBO, Showtime, Starz and other premium channels.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
To be fair, the Sookie Stackhouse books were not enormously consistent in terms of sensibility, IMO. Veering away from the source material was not always a mistake. Like keeping Lafayette alive: good choice.
Likewise the absence of Quinn and Bubba.
Is anyone else watching Outlander?
Amy, I was just coming in here to ask if anyone knew where to find it for streaming/download! I thought it was available on iTunes but apparently not.
Amy, I was planning on watching it, but we don't have Starz anymore.
Um, not above-board, that I know of.
I do agree with -t's point about Lafayette. Absolutely.
I am watching Outlander, Amy...while simultaneously listening to the books. (It turns out that the series constitutes several hundred hours of entertainment!)
I liked the second episode much better than the first and am hopeful for the series being much more loyal to the source material...though there are already some changes.
What have you thought of it?
You can watch the first episode of Outlander on the Starz site.
It would be so good if they did the delayed release that hulu does...or made a deal with netflix!
It's been a long time since I read the books, so a lot of the little details are probably going to escape me, but I'm loving it so far. I think they're doing a fantastic job creating the world and the characters so far. The casting for Claire and Jamie is really great.
