It seemed a petty way to go out with a guy you'd just been espousing warm sentiment for.
It came across as the kind of shorthand people in love sometimes have, not as an actual insult. For me, anyway.
[NAFDA] A thread for the discussion of all original programming on HBO, Showtime, Starz and other premium channels.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
It seemed a petty way to go out with a guy you'd just been espousing warm sentiment for.
It came across as the kind of shorthand people in love sometimes have, not as an actual insult. For me, anyway.
To me it either sounded like a dispassioned reprimand or basically fanservice. Nothing organic about it at all.
Really? Sounded like an endearment sort of thing to me.
Enh, we disagree. I think it's so overused I only laugh when I hear it.
So, in a fit of procrastination, I am doing a Bragging Rights Prediction Pool for the GoT finale.
By necessity, there are pretty major spoilers for the books.
As for Penny Dreadful - I hate Vanessa's backstory. Meh.
I will be interested to see what others say about it over time, but I think I'm dropping Penny Dreadful. It's not creepy fun, it's just ugly.
Worse than that, it's boring. I assume we'll get back to the stories I find more interesting next week.
Worse than that, it's boring.
Oh, I liked it! It was so perfectly gothic, a real "penny dreadful" tale. And at least now I know where the twisted vibe between Vanessa and Malcolm comes from.
Also, the woman who played Vanessa's mother could be her mother! Such a strong resemblance.
Also also, English seashore house porn. NOM.
Just watched the first episode of PD (I've been saving them up until the first one was rebroadcast) -- I'm definitely intrigued.
I may watch it just to revel in the costuming, though.
I'm only watching PD with half an eye. It's very pretty, but only some people compel me. So I guess I missed Vanessa's backstory--please to explain?
The Ethan/Dorian--well I was not expecting that. I'm sure my sister is already aware.
I do like the Mina search, I like Ethan and Billie-the-ho, Dorian usually keeps my attention, and Frankenstein is fun. Poor Proteus!
