"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Wow, I didn't realize we were that rare.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Ya know, it's not the chest hair I resent. My back OTOH...

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Homeland - OK, I didn't see that twist coming, but I'm still kinda meh. But I'm not bailing yet.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I didn't see the twist coming either. It makes me happy that, turns out, Carrie isn't a complete dunce.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I would LOVE it if we could be done with Brody and Brody's family on this show. Carrie and Saul chasing terrorists in creative and ethically shady ways, yes. Dana rebelling in the most boring teenage way possible? NO.

Yeah. I can see where telling the story of the family unfairly stigmatized blah blah blah probably sounded like a really good idea but the story they are actually telling is, yeah, boring. Remodeling the bathroom was the most interesting bit.

And I guess they want to show us Brody's stagnant and claustrophobic life on the run but as compelling as I usually find him that is also boring. The attempted escape to the mosque was interesting but also really depressing.

I can see where that storyline might pay off down the line, but I agree, right now, it's dull and repetitive.

Dana/Jessica/son...bleargh. They're not important anymore, write them out.

Is anyone else watching Masters of Sex? I'm enjoying the performances, but the writing is cringeworthy at best. Probably 90% of all scenes could be summed up as:

MALE CHARACTER to OTHER MALE CHARACTER: Women, amirite??? Sex!

WRITERS OF SHOW to AUDIENCE: The 50's, amirite??? Sex!

And then porn.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I'm watching, but I haven't watched last night's episode yet. And I agree about the writing. They also have characters saying unintentional double-entendres way too often.

I can't stand Claire Danes. If we lost Damian Lewis I don't think Mandy could hold me on his own.
