Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I just realised I have Minecraft PE on my tablet--never cracked it, though. I add games like I'll every play shit.

Hugely impressive, especially if you read the effort--it took ~100 people 4 months--it was done brick by brick, apparently.

Not javachik

Homeland fell off the mark in the last part of Season 2. ITA with Tim Goodman, who always says it best. [link]

I'm with him in that I'll be there to check out Season 3.

Should be interesting to see how The Americans shakes out in comparison. I'd been warned (by NPR/David Bianculli, I think) that the first ep wasn't the best but to hang in there, and so I was ready to laugh with the rest of the tv-watching world when "Something's in the air tonight" or whatever it's called came on.

I hope one of them succeeds in having the smartness of Homeland Season 1.

Trust my rage

Did i see someone say this would be the place to discuss House of Cards? I've seen three episodes so far and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I think the reporter is a little creepy and I seriously hope Francis does not fall for her so obvious efforts. But I also would like her to be smarter than she has been portrayed so far. Also, I want to know what is the deal with the wife (Claire?) she seems haunted by something AND her firing everyone was ruthless but speaks to some bigger goal.

I see issues with discussing this show because there's no way to know what is a spoiler. Or I guess nothing is because it has all been "aired". Anyway, I'm enjoying it and the sideways little glances I to his inner thoughts. I was very intrigued to see him rowing at the end of ep 2 or 3 and would like to know what made him do it.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I see issues with discussing this show because there's no way to know what is a spoiler.

I know! Honestly, I think Netflix did not think this distribution model through. Yes, people love Netflix for the ability to mainline shows and watch all five seasons of Breaking Bad over a weekend or whatever, but in order to build an audience people need to be able to talk about the show, and not knowing what you can and can't say is a huge barrier to that.

Is everything a spoiler because some people haven't watched anything yet? Is nothing a spoiler because it's all out there?

Anyway, I've seen the first two eps and am really enjoying it. I don't love the breaking the fourth wall exposition, but Kevin Spacey's delivery keeps it enjoyable enough. (On Slate they were talking about the show and made the point that at times it felt like the writers didn't know quite what to do with that mechanism either, but once they'd introduced it they had to keep using it, and I totally agree.)

Robin Wright is amazing. I don't yet fully understand what her character is up to, but I love her performance.

Trust my rage

I hadn't thought about the whole barrier to conversation thing, but it does seem, well, if not huge, at least big.

I thought I would hate the breaking the fourth wall moments, but I have actually enjoyed them. I heard a Fresh Air interview where they talked about how they decide to use them and that made it seem interesting.

I love Robin Wright. I used to watch her on Santa Barbara back in the day.
