We killed a homeless man on this bench. Me and Dru. Those were good times. You know, he begged for mercy, and you know, that only made her bite harder.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I saw the pilot and was kind of turned off. I'm waiting to hear what people's reactions are to the 2nd ep.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I watched the first episode and got really sucked in but it kind of hurts to watch. It's got a lot going on, I'm not sure I can keep up with all the threads.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I saw the pilot, which did not grab me at all, but I'll probably watch the second episode out of curiosity.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It looked really well done, and the cast is impeccable, but only a couple of the myriad storylines got me interested enough to think about checking out the next episode for anything other than completist reasons.

Art Crawl!!!

Of course I saw it!

Horsies!

Tragedy!

Stories of people and horsies done wrong!

Redemption through a good 3-year-old.

"already on the kiss-cam with Karl Marx"-

I tried to watch some On Demand just now, but I'm having one of those days where nothing holds my attention. I think I will either love it(like Justified) or hate it(like Boardwalk Empire)

Art Crawl!!!

I did read that the press packet came with a five page dictionary of racing terms.

I really like the training and racing scenes (although that broken leg was horrifying. Did they rally need to go there in the very first episode? That this is a show that puts down a horse on screen so soon is giving me pause about whether it's something I really want to watch). The gambling bits are okay but not an inherently interesting subject for me.So, I don't know, but the DVR has instructions to record the series.

Not javachik

But nobody thinks Brian is real, though, right?

Correct.

I'm "reading" Jeff Lindsay's "Dexter is Delicious" on books on CD; he narrates, and wow is he terrific - one of the best author-reads ever. I've read the others in print. He's droll, his voice is very well modulated, and the writing has always been very good. I think maybe he used to act, might have read that back-when. Anyway, listening to Lindsay makes me give M.C. Hall less credit for Dex's character in voice-over than I used to.

The plot in the tv show diverged from the books a long time ago. Things look dismal for the show right now; this last season was pretty bad.

Fired from "Boardwalk Empire"

Paz de la Huerta. Raise your hand if you are surprised.
