I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

And everyone but Joffrey knows that. Cersei had no idea he would think for himself and fuck up so badly, but the boy-king ain't right.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

GoT:

I haven't read the books at all, so I was shocked by Stark's death. I thought for sure they are going to save him somehow.

I've watched most of the season over the last two weeks, and I was finding it difficult to keep everyone straight for a while, but I am really liking the show.

Can someone explain to me the whole people with dragon blood who aren't actual dragons thing?

I'm really hoping that Arya gets to grow up to be a great warrior and kills Joffrey.

How far has the story taken us in terms of the books?

Even knowing it was coming I was a little shocked, they did a really good job of setting it up.

We're almost through the first book, sj, the end of the season should finish it off.

The "blood of the dragon" is House Targaryen who are dragons in the same sense that Starks are wolves ad Lannisters are lions, it's the symbol of their house. They also had actual dragons which they used to conquer Westeros, but the actual dragons have all died out (and House Targaryen has almost all died out).

Ah, I missed that entirely. But Daenerys is actually immune to fire, so I was thinking that it was more literal and not just symbolic of the houses.

Yeah, there's more going on than just symbolism but, honestly, I'm not sure what. They're originally from Valyria and all those incestuous marriages have kept their bloodline pure so there is something biological/genetic/magic that sets them apart, but how exactly I don't know.

Thanks -t. I've ordered the books and intend to start reading them as soon as this season ends.

Always Anti-fascist!

Frank, I think Bourdain has made Chef Eric(His BFF) a Larry Stu. We'll see if he starts singing or something soon.

Well, he did have him admit that Alan Richman was a friend, so he's not quite perfect.
