So I started watching The Wire last night. It's going to be interesting seeing some of these actors in this context vs. what other stuff I've seen them in. Though it looks like Lance Reddick is basically playing the same character on Fringe that he played on The Wire.
Premium Cable: The Cursing Costs Extra
[NAFDA] A thread for the discussion of all original programming on HBO, Showtime, Starz and other premium channels.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
heh heh.
well, not exactly.
Yeah, the quick-cuts this week were, in my view, unnecessary, but quick-cutting a rape? Shit's unseemly, man. Frank, I don't know...I've never watched Fringe. Hayden, I'm just saying, they should count their blessings...it could be *so* much worse.
Game of Thrones: 2 sneaks for episode 7.
True Blood: sneak peek - 1st 3 minutes of season 4.
GoT: I like the scene between Theon and Osha but that scene with Littlefinger and Ros and the other prostitute not so much. It seemed out of character for him to say so much about himself to anyone.
Treme: it amuses me that Hidalgo thinks he's on the verge of figuring out NOLA.
GoT: it took a reviewer who identified the animal Tywin was skinning as a pig/boar for me to realize the significance that it was a stag. Duh.
That didn't look like a stunt stag to me. (OK, SFX stag, but 'stunt stag' is much funnier.)
The Littlefinger scene did seem out of proportion and character. I suspect it's because they want to set up stuff for the coming season as well as make sure his "you shouldn't trust me" doesn't come out of the blue....
Aside from "Winter Is Coming" the theme of tGoT should be "A King In The Hand is Worth Four or Five Elsewhere."
Hee
I need somebody who hasn't read the book to let me know how necessary that exposition was.
Book related speculation here: If Roz=Shae then what does Littlefinger baring his soul to her and her buddy mean ?
I suspect either that my speculation comes to naught or that it bodes ill for that character.
