"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

sumi, S1 had too much Sookie and Bill for me. I don't really like either of them. I like the supporting cast much better.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

I think that is my problem, too, sj. I don't find either of them particularly interesting or well-acted.

I think I also have a low-tolerance for stupid-with-a-southern-accent in general.

I contrast the characters on True Blood with the ones on Justified, and find them wanting.

Always Anti-fascist!

I have written No Reservations: Bon Temps fanfic. Should I link to it in the fanfic thread? It was fun describing that stuff from the outside and borrowing Bourdain's...outsized voice for the occasion. I think Season one was kind of my favorite...maybe you never forget your first time? One thing I appreciate about the show is that we can*see* Sookie wearing her clothes so that Charlaine doesn't need to describe them to us. That shit gets OLD fast.(Maybe it wouldn't if I wasn't wearing a t-shirt with the Leverage team on it.) And I've kind of given up on the books cause she's ended up in clinches with everyone cause OMG, Sookie is just SO irresistible(And I LIKE Sookie...she's just approaching a situation where her biggest flaw is being too awesome in the book!verse) I wish I hadn't read them all in a big bunch. I just missed the show...

Well, don't hold season 1 against Jason. He got awesome in season 2 without getting any smarter, just more self-aware. I'm trying to ignore the regression in season 3, because he was that much better in season 2.

Ok, maybe I'll give Season 2 a try.

Oh Lord, yes. While I appreciate that the book character has more agency and practicality than Anna Paquin's benighted simpleton, the focus on describing her Wal-mart ensemble du jour every chapter drives me up the wall.

Compassionately intolerant

This is especially annoying when you listen to the books. A bit like the first two Potter books when JK was in her adverbial period, I said disappointedly.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

One of the few things I remember about the one or two Anita Blake books I managed was the emphasis on her clothes. Usually including the color of stripe on her Nikes.
