if you don't like TB's pilot, you probably won't like the show
eh...this is true and not. i wasn't overly impressed with the first season as a whole. it wasn't until season two that i started to feel the love and felt like they hit their stride. i definitely think you have to start with the pilot though. of course, i'm also a purist and have to watch shows from the beginning.
On the whole, I liked the first season better than the second - I think it was because I didn't care for the 2nd season's main plot. The side plots were decent, but the main plot was not.

I've only seen Season 1 so far, but I found myself lukewarm about the pilot (except for the Tara and Gran characters) and growing to enjoy it more as the series progressed.
wrod. It's a lot of fun, but not deep like what the Daves write.
I enjoyed Season 1, despite wanting to smack Sookie most of the time. The developing MaryAnne plotline was enough to entirely lose my interest in continuing with Season 2. Though this right here may be enough to convince me to catch up:

and there promises to be more of the SAME! It is no joke.
I wasn't sold on the pilot mainly because Sookie annoyed me, and she continues to do so. But there was enough there to keep me wanting to watch. I liked the main arc of S1 better than the main arc of S2, but I enjoyed the secondary storylines of S2 much better than the secondary plots during S1. So I guess what I'm saying is that if you take the S1 main plot and combine it with the S2 secondary plots, you'd have a great season.

Nope, I've only seen Season 1.
