I'm going to see to Wesley, see if he's still whimpering.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Must check out Spartacus...

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

LOL

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

It's pretty. And gory. Lucy Lawless and John Hannah are fabulous. Main guy is just there to be pretty and tortured.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

there are SO many references to penises though. I mean I have never heard "cock" so many times in my life.

Clearly, you weren't a fan of Deadwood.

eta: which I wasn't either. I could take hearing the cock references, but the constant use of the c-word bothered me.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

which is funny because I liked Deadwood. The initial episodes were tough going though.

I guess if I decided to hang in for 4 more episodes, I would get used to it, but I don't think I'm going to last that long.

Gay porn? Good porn, I say. Bring it on. The gore is what's killing me, and I say that as a fan of 300 and of the original Gladiator, ridiculous as it was. But this last episode was almost too much for me. There were moments I had to actually look away from the screen. When old dude cut that guy's face off?. Yeah, I did not appreciate. It's definitely not what I'd call quality TV . . . but did I mention all the naked? And the pretty? Because seriously. There's some fine man candy on that show. The ladies ain't no slouches either. But it's definitely not Deadwood (not that I ever watched that show). There seems to be no deeper meaning behind all that cock.

Well, I didn't need MORE gore, so I guess I really am out.

Come on, don't you think some of the (lack of) attire gets ridiculous though? They had a snow scene where the men were in little more than loin cloths and the woman was in a light dress.

I keep waiting for someone to put on some pants.

Oh, it's completely ridiculous and ahistorical in the extreme. I guess I had given up on any pretensions at logic before I even started watching the show, so the near nudity in the middle of winter didn't bother me all that much. They really should look into pants though. At least the ones in Germania.

Anyone watching "Big Love" - it is incredibly wacky this season. And not in a good way. I feel like the show is going to run off a cliff.
