Compassionately intolerant

I did like the poetry of Maryann's demise, but I was just glad to see that arc finished. blech.

Also good to see that my fears for Lafayette were unfounded.

Now that the show has gone so, very far afield from the books, I have no idea what to even hope for in the new season.

On a trivial side note, one additional reason for being glad the -everybody ORGY now!- scenes are over is a cognitive dissonance I've been having over watching John Billingsly play the geeklove, Coombs, on SG-1 and then seeing his bared flesh on TB. Ick.

"We have trust issues." Mylar

I was so glad they offed Mary Anne with fully 30 minutes to spare. That story never quite gelled, did it? Loved Lafayette in a white bridesmaid dress yelling "Worship him, bitches." Replace the "him" with "me" and that's what everyone should be doing all the time. Loved Andy busting fools for being black eyed zombies at Merlotte's and Jason's little speech about what it really means to be a big damn hero. I'm still shocked at how this season turned me into a big old Jason Stackhouse fan. How will he deal with having shot Eggs? Jason is a lover, not a fighter. Poor, poor kid.

Also love? Terry Bellefleur being all cute and crazy surrogate dad with Arlene's kids. (BTW, Arlene's kids are two mini-balls of awesome!) I'm glad those two are going to continue on in hopes of being Bon Temps next top couple, now that Hoyt and Jessica seem determined to break my heart. Those two kids. Awww.

I still am not enjoying the vampire queen, which makes me sad because it seems like she is going to play a bigger role next season. Something about the actress I just find off putting. Oh well, Eric was very pretty and I'm always intrigued with what he does. Also not enjoying the whole Sookie might not be human angle. The shooting white hand power, yeah. I don't like it.

Is it next season yet?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Yeah, I don't get why Sookie seems to have this "power" and her brother does not.

Art Crawl!!!

Or her cousin - if we think the power comes from her grandmother.

Now tagless for your comfort.

It will be interesting to see if they pursue any of the plots involving Jason from rest of the books.

"Yep, I'm pretty sure he'd dead." "Yep." LOVE

the power could be matrilineal.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Finally got to watch the True Blood finale - my power went out in the middle on Sunday and my attempts to record it since then have been thwarted until last night. I can pretty much just point to what kat perez says and nod. The maenad storyline never really worked for me, glad it's over. Too funny that they managed to get Sookie running through the woods in a white dress AGAIN.

I was so pleased with Jessica and Bill having their little family moment before going out for the evening, very sad that that's all a front on her part.

Eta: I have not curiosity about where Sookie's power comes from, which is odd considering how everyone keeps going on about how special she is. I do hope guy-who-works-at-vampire-hotel-and-is-also-telepathic turns up again, though.

Bill saying "...but times change" seemed like a Big Character Moment, but in a genuinely sweet way.
