Premium Cable: The Cursing Costs Extra
[NAFDA] A thread for the discussion of all original programming on HBO, Showtime, Starz and other premium channels.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Trueblood.
Whoa! I suppose the bite was inevitable but I didn't expect it quite so soon.
The friend I watch the show with was really moved by the scene with Sookie eating Gran's pie. I'm not sure why, but it made me a bit queasy. Transubstantiation Pie. ew.
The entire episode was so much slower than the previous ones...not so many questions/answers but whooboy, packed a punch.
In the books, can vampires
sense a shapeshifter
? My curiosity was piqued by Bill's seeming comfort with the dog who
is not Sam, I don't think
.
Details I want to see fleshed out next week:
What's up with Uncle Wheels, what's up with the cut screen and, who was it
strangling
Sookie. Was that her dream or Bill's?
The pie scene really worked for me. That's the last thing her grandmother made for her, and I can imagine what the last few bites would be like.
After Bill's line to Sam about about it not being an appropriate time for marking his territory, it does seem like Bill believes Sam is a werecollie. I'm just guessing, and it could be misdirection, but Bill had a knowing smile when he said that.
On the other hand, Sam could really use a steaming mug of So Not About You At The Moment.
I'm looking forward to next week. I want to see more of Eric, too, whenever he shows up again.
Why is there white font? This thread is NAFDA. The only thing that people are whitefonting is stuff from the books.
Just me being paranoid.
Ash...totally adding to my theory. Cool!
Why is there white font?
Sorry, very little sleep in three days, which apparently manifests in a mad white font delirium. I'm taking medication for that.
I'm about to watch it again with my True Blood Friend.
Tara was at her least annoying ever last night. I like the Tara who loves Sookie and takes care of her. Also, maybe it helps that a friend of mine asked if I didn't find her, on occasion, a little bit ashy, which made me laugh and laugh and laugh. And as always, Lafayatte owned in this episode. The way he said cornbread made me think of my grandfather.
I quite enjoyed last night's episode and found Sookie's whole emotional journey very real. I also liked the Tara/Sam. Sadly, as pitiful as a I found Jason last night, I still care not a whit for him or his whole little boy lost act. Someone can kill him any time now.
I loved Tara and Lafayette on this episode. I loved Bill and Werecollie standing guard together (I know someone who is waiting for Bill/Sam slash, but Sam kind of creeps me out).
But yeah, Jason. A friend was talking about how it's become this joke... Can we get through an episode without a Jason Soft Porn scene? No. No we can't.
But it's been a while since I was all "can't wait for next week" about a show, any show. I'm not sure when that happened.
The whole Jason thing is really turning me off of the show. The character is dislikable, but the way they choose to portray him is gratuitous and annoying. You don't have to show nudity and soft core sex just because you're on HBO.
Can we get through an episode without a Jason Soft Porn scene? No. No we can't.
[answered in Lafayette's voice] An' it'sa damn shame.
I loved Lafayette's "Like Water for Chocolate", love in food speech...capped with kernbread and "You gonna wish you ain't did that."
Love. it.
Just about every scene involving Lafayette was fun. I love the little looks and gestures he gives when someone else is speaking. A very responsive actor.
