I like books. I just don't want to take on too much. Do they have an introduction to the modern blurb?

Always Anti-fascist!

Whoa, dude, stay off the corners. For real. I'm completely obsessed and only watch two at a time.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

Not me. When we first watched the show, we went through Seasons 1 & 2 in about two weeks. I've rewatched both of them at least three times since, and it seems to always get richer.

I guess it took me a while to adjust to all the ways "It's not TV," My brain gets full. In a good way, but... and especially after a thing like Wallace, I would need a moment to shake my fist and be all "Simon, you bastard!" Because that kind of communication is essential in an open spousal delusion, don't you think?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Mainlining is the best way to do the show. At least at first.

It certainly helps to have most of the story fresh enough to catch some of the little details.

I'm completely obsessed and only watch two at a time.

I normally watch at least one a day (with dinner), but I do more some nights when I'm free and on the weekends.

When we first watched the show, we went through Seasons 1 & 2 in about two weeks.

Well, I did season one in eight days, and I'll probably get through a chunk of season two this three-day weekend.

I've rewatched both of them at least three times since, and it seems to always get richer.

That's good. I wasn't sure how rewatchable the show was because for me, a lot of the appeal was in watching the story develop with lots of little surprises here and there.

There is so much, there will likely always be something. I'm rewatching Season 4 so I can get the commentary. And yes, I was that annoying kid who made her candy last too.(ask my brother about that. Although he has the vaguely racist habit of imitating cornerboys when I watch it in front of him, so maybe not, right?)

All right, new season! Which means new theme song. I like the old version better.

You'd think that, this being the season premiere of a show I have been watching, I would know what the fuck is going on half the time. But you'd be wrong.

Did they think the first season was too black or something? All these white dudes are confusing me! Is this season all about the shipyards? Are there smugglers? Is this The Hardy Boys and the Wire ?

Hell, I don't even know what's going on with the people I DO know. What was all that shit Bodie was doing with mileage and taking the car apart and whatnot? I got the part where their supplier hadn't supplied them with their goods, but did they think it was in his car? And Bodie had the keys to the car. And there were a couple guys following them that I think are the guys Stringer had on them.

I'm also confused about the upcoming case. I thought the drug case was over. And I thought Wee-Bey confessed to Gant's murder even though they knew it was bullshit. How are they going to convict Bird, then? What evidence are they looking for?

I can't even tell who's who in the shipyards and what's going on with the cargo full of dead girls. Hello, Amy Ryan!

Stringer is counting to make sure they really GO to Philly, instead of just saying so. Cause dealers will, on occasion, say their stashes got taken by Narco and then move to the other side of town, which might as well be the moon, sell it and keep the cash. But they would be dead if String found out about it, so, gutsy and enterprenuerial as it might seem, you get like, one shot at that one.

But Bodie was checking some red car. They went in a white van. Were they checking up on someone else?

I think so, but I don't remember all the details all that perfectly anymore. Which reminds me of the time I sent out a resume with "detail-oriented" misspelled on it. I'd be on the fuckin' boat for sure.ETA: Maybe he thought someone stole from the package and put it in their wheel-wells. I seem to recall that coming up once or twice. Dag, the stuff I remember well is too spoily to talk about! Corwood will have my ass if I wreck the HMFQ, and not in the fun way where he'd have to burn the evidence, either.

Punishingly Intricate

It's really fucking sad. He was a good kid. He's not even real, but I'm sure there are Wallaces all over the place.

Oh yeah there are. I was upset at Wallace's death. My best friend who is an ER doc at Hopkins was absolutely devastated by it because, yes, she sees boys (and some girls) like him every day. She actually had to stop watching the show completely after the first ep or so of season 4. It was just too close to home for her.
