It takes a bit of time to get to know all these characters, just as much as the plot -- They aren't instant, "here's the guy who fits this generic slot" intros. I also found that it was worth rewatching the first few eps because I know myself well enough to know that I was going to be kicking myself if I realized I'd missed something crucial after sending the disc back to Netflix.
The cornerboys tend to speak their own....well, the NPR folks call it a "patois" but I find that a bit too anthropological for my comfort.Yay...Cool Lester Smooth. And Bubbles. And Bodie.(If I ever got a labrador, I'd name him Bodie.)

Yeah, I was inexplicably tired and was in and out of consciousness for about twenty minutes, which left me very confused at the end, but then I rewatched what I'd missed, and it made a little more sense. Except for that scene with whatsername and her test because I still don't really know who she is. I think she's the same one who talked with Bubbles in the hospital.

I loved the discussion about Hamilton being on the money. That was great.

Y'all hush about Lester. Reason here: For all intents & purposes, he's nothing but a mope for half the first season. When he proves he's natural police is one of the pleasures of that season.

Corwood, Yeah, mos def. I just really enjoy that coinage "Cool Lester Smooth" But, you're right...is too much. I forget because I watched the seasons out of order.
I am so confused. Is Lester really a Cylon?
