Carver's interactions with Bodie
OTP!!!!
I've actually never seen the Corner. I didn't have HBO when it was aired but I think it's on OnDemand now so I should check it out.
Herc and the other mayor detail guy checking out the president of the City Council cracked me the hell up too! Especially considering the controversy surrounding our current city council pres. (awarding city contracts to her sister's company, that sort of thing) who is maybe not quite so hot but does certainly resemble the woman playing her role on the show.
I loved all of Herc's scenes: trying to banter with the other guy, checking out Madame President, making sure the car is ok, standing around looking bored while Royce gave a speech. Yeah, that's the stuff.
The Corner's ok. Not the best, especially when compared to The Wire (which IS the best), but it'll do.
Also, what does OTP mean?

One True Pairing like, you know, Buffy & Angel.
One True Pairing like, you know, Buffy & Angel.
Got it and yeah. A friend elsewhere said that they should just go ahead and "Mornin' Ralph/Mornin' Sam" each other.
My favorite moment between them is still "And this must be the lovely *Mrs.* Herc" from, I think season one, even if it's a Clockers shout-out.
And I still think there's something to Herc/Carver, you know.
Loved Bodie, who's all of what, nineteen, complaining about "the young un's work ethic" BWAH!(I just really like Bodie, though. There's something about the guy.)
I suspect that Teacher!Pres might become my woobie.
Also loved them sitting there looking at that big pile of paper and being like "Anybody miss Pres?"
ETA: One thing I don't love? Trying to watch when my brother's around. Because he imitates how the cornerboys talk, for one, and I think that has Racial Overtones as well as being just annoying.

Tell him to stick to Stringer and Prop Joe imitations with the "Adjourn your asses" and "For a cold-ass crew of gangsters, y'all carried it like Republicans and shit."
I just really like Bodie, though. There's something about the guy.
Even McNulty loves Bodie.
"Aw, go on, I've been dining out on that story for months."
Yeah, that'd be cool, if he could learn to appreciate them...well, I was gonna say, like I do, but considering my blog has Domino Sugars as a backdrop, that might be too much to ask.
Normal levels of appreciation might be nice, though.
Survey up at HBO re: interest in a fourth season of Deadwood:
[link]
I don't know if I believe that's really HBO. Was there a link to it from their site?
It's legit. The link comes from an email HBO sent out to people who'd signed up for their newsletter. When Carnivale ended there was something just like it. And I do mean just like it; some of the answers don't apply to Deadwood, so I think it's just a generic form they use for market research.
