I think I'm reconsidering. I called him slimy since he's Al's right-hand man, doing his dirty work, but he seems kind of conflicted about it. He's like a big murderous teddy bear. He'll kill who needs killing, but he won't like it!

Man, you're thinking of Dan Dority, played by W. Earl Brown. Brad Dourif is the town doctor.

OK, I don't think you're not talking about Brad Dourif there. Brad Dourif plays the doctor. And I don't know how you could could see Dan Dority and think it was the same actor who played Wormtongue.

However, my original statement stands about Dan as well. He's got more going on than even he knows is going on with him.

And, heh, inevitable pedantic Buffista x-post. God bless us cocksuckers.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Seriously, it's just an amazingly arc-y show -- not just from episode to episode, but through each complete season, in ways that call back little throwaways from episodes back. Really lovely construction.

Yay!

Brad Dourif plays the doctor.

Oh. Now I can see why you wouldn't think he was slimy. Because he is not. He is also not rotund.

And I don't know how you could could see Dan Dority and think it was the same actor who played Wormtongue.

Dude, practically everyone is nigh unrecognizable on this show, covered up in hats and hair. Also, I haven't seen the LOTR movies since they were out in theatres.

I've had Wise Blood tivoed for a couple of weeks, and this inspired me to go ahead & watch it. Pretty good! Much better than the other Huston lit adaptation I watched recently, Under The Volcano.

Uh, the connection being that Brad Dourif plays Hazel Motes.

Of course! I love that movie.

I'd never seen it before, but it knocked my socks off.

Huh, I swear I had a post in here, but I must have gotten distracted: Corwood - where did you find WISE BLOOD to Tivo it? I hope if it's being broadcast somewhere again that means it will finally get a DVD release.

I got it off of Showtime Next, from back before The Wire went off the air and we had all the premium channels for the price of one. I hope you're right about an upcoming DVD, but I haven't seen anything. I was thinking about recording it onto a home burnt DVD, but I forgot and deleted it when the movie was over.

Now we ain't got nairn of them premium channels, but we'll probably reorder HBO when Generation Kill comes out.
