Fred: It's the pictures in my mind that are getting me. It's like being stuck in a really bad movie with those Clockwork Orange clampy things on my eyeballs. Wesley: Why imagine? Reality's disturbing enough.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Yeah, I get that about McNulty. Though it is also a kind of moral pride which generally precedes a calamitous fall.

Always Anti-fascist!

Even Landsman said he couldn't help it, he's "addicted to himself"

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

That felt like a goddamn Wire episode last night.

Good. Glad to know they're back on their game. Sad about ANY bad eps. All the pieces matter.

Watched Pres' first day again. That girl getting her face sliced is just as shocking this time. Also, Cutty has kind of a way with the Spanglish.

Punishingly Intricate

Okay I just watched the last two eps in a row. They KILLED BUTCHIE and PROP JOE?!?!??!

My friend just called to tell she is "quitting the Wire"

She thinks they're going after Bubs next and that would just be TOO MUCH!

No lie, and I'm aware how dramatic this makes me sound, but I'd be devastated by that. I'm not over Bodie For God's sake. And Bubbles has always seemed like the heart of the show. It seems like it would send a sad message about humanity if something happened to him. Maybe I'm overthinking, though.

Salon writers note that one of the guys from the homeless camp was a character named Horse (dock worker) from S2.

They're tying all the threads together.

"Why do they call him Horse?"
"You need a diagram?"

Salon got it wrong. That was Johnny Fifty. And Christ was that an embarassment of riches. One of my all-time favorite episodes, right out of the gate.
