Angel: You know, I killed my actual dad. It was one of the first things I did when I became a vampire. Wesley: I hardly see how that's the same situation. Angel: Yeah. I didn't really think that one through.

Boxed Set, Vol. III: "That Can't Be Good..."

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Watched BSG Season 1 (and the mini-series. Didn't realize it was included on the Season 1 box set, but glad it was since my gf hadn't seen it yet) this weekend with my girlfriend. We both enjoyed it (despite me being spoiled from reading watch and post stuff and discussion here) and I just ordered Season 2.0 and pre-ordered 2.5. Hopefully she and I can find some free time once the DVDs arrive to watch them before Season 3 starts up.

Starbuck still bears an uncanny resemblance to GF's former roommate, but she's now Starbuck in my head and not some odd doppleganger of a person I know, which is a good thing.

One of GF's current roommates can't stand Baltar, but I can't help but be bemused by his antics, even if logically I know they'd all be better off if he actually had something resembling a conscience.

I absolutely love the cast and characters, barring Tigh's wife, who I'm sure we're meant to dislike, but she's not even dislikable in an interesting way. Lee feels a little too much like generic hero guy, but he's still likeable.

I do find it a little hard to believe that the Galactica has pilots pulling things like security detail for conferences and such, when the pilots are one of their least-expendable resources, but I understand on a show it's a lot easier to have major characters involved in stuff like this rather than creating new characters to fulfill the role from both a writing and financial perspective.

The number of medium-build, dark haired 20-something males in the cast can also be confusing, as it's hard to keep track of a lot of the pilots and techs that aren't main characters at times. Vipers blow up and I feel like I would care more if I remembered who exactly it was that just bought it.

The increasing number of empty seats in the pilots' briefing room is kind of chilling, though.

Definitely anxiously awaiting the arrival of the new DVDs.

On a side note, the little production company bits at the end are seriously cracked-out. Nothing except the Grr Argh has made me want to sit through the end credits of a show.

vanguard of the socialist Hollywood liberal homosexualist agenda

So I'm watching some S5 SG-1, and even though I skipped Meridian, even Revelations is getting me all misty.

Anyone have any theories on why Daniel was so antsy/cranky/pissy in Failsafe (the Armageddon knock-off)? Everyone's all snippy with each other in that ep, and I don't get it.

(Though I won't get into how uneven the end of S5 seems, but I have a feeling that has a lot to do with the sudden departure of MS...)

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

You've more or less summed up all of Season 2.

And now having seen the ep in question, I would just like to say, there ain't enough booze on the planet to make me drunk enough to truly appreciate this week's Venture Brothers.

All is well that ends in pizza.

There were also many electronic components, various electic motors, dentist chairs, marbles and baby doll limbs for sale there.

Hmph.

Paramount Domestic Television has finally decided to pull a George Lucas and "upgrade" the sound and effects of the original Star Trek series just in time for the 40th anniversary of the show.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

They'd better not touch the musical score to those episodes—if the classic soundtrack to Kirk's fight scenes, etc. gets replaced by crappy music like they thought was appropriate for Enterprise, heads. Will. Roll.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I loved it when the Kirk fight music showed up on Futurama -- that was SO perfect. (Not to mention, they sampled the door swish noises for their animated foley scheme. Genius, I tells you!)

Art Crawl!!!

Did you guys watch the webisode?

I guess it goes live after Midnight on the day it comes out.

It was about 3 1/2 minutes of story plus a 30 second season 3 promo. (Well, the reality is that it's ALL a season 3 promo, isn't it?)

I will whitefont because uh. . . people need time to see it and it seems courteous at this point: I love that it starts with the Chief and Tigh and that they get right into the badness of the situation. And the redheaded pilot! (Duck, I think.) And Cally and Jammer and the Chief/Cally baby.

I heard the scene with Jabba the Hut is really extraneous.
