Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I think Harry pressed the ring on a voodoo doll and that's what crushed the blood vessels around Justin's heart. And the ring is either in the coffin or in Harry's possession.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Full points!

Did anyone else find that last exchange odd? It felt like it was pulled from the books or something, with a relationship just enough different that it just rang false?

It was a little odd. But I'm going with it. I wish he'd introduced her to Bob. Or that Bob had appeared in that last scene in some way. But overall - way cool.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

By the time Harry comes completely clean in the books, Murphy's already seen and worked with Harry on enough of the spooky stuff that it's more him clarifying things rather than it being a big reveal. So the final scene doesn't really map to the books either. The only simularities in both cases would be Murphy still recovering from an unpleasant supernatural incident that affected her mentally/spiritually.

Overall, I thought the episode was a letdown. Considering it was dealing with a lot of major issues: Harry's past, Bob's past, Harry and Murphy's relationship, and Murphy coming to terms with the supernatural, it should have been a two parter. As it stood, it came across as a little too easily wrapped up and Harry and Justin's magical smackdown was rather cheesy.

They packed a little too much into this one. It wasn't "All About Murphy". I'd rather they'd have left Murphy's part in this to another episode of its own.

Yeah. That would have helped a lot. Especially since we lost a minute or two of story time to previouslies and the vast majority were about Murphy.

I get the feeling they're afraid they're not going to get another season, so they're trying to cram the whole story they want to tell into only 12 episodes.

See, I think we're darn near this now. Let the lady have her denial, but that's what it is, IMO

eta: On rewatch, I remembered how much I liked the change in Bob from past to present.

Art Crawl!!!

I liked the episode and so far, it's the only DF to bring a tear to my eye.

Also, tonight's Blood Ties was good. It's repeating kind of nowish - I recommend it. (They seem to be getting better as they go along.)

Art Crawl!!!

Hey, did anyone recognize Jim Butcher? Apparently, this was the episode that he had a cameo in.
