We're not gonna die. We can't die, Bendis. You know why? Because we are so very pretty. We are just too pretty for God to let us die.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Am I the only one who thinks Paul Blackthorne (Dresden) is completely yummy?

Count me in with the growr.

What is even happening?

Dana, thanks for the song. I will listen later, when I'm not using dh's pc.

Watched BSG. I couldn't think the paint scene was hot because I was too preoccupied by how nasty it must taste.

Right there with you ita, but I keep thinking about the smell. Paint fumes hurt me.

Cindy, you haven't been paying attention!
The Blackthorne love has been ehre all the time.

Well, it's been insufficient to his yumminess, sumi. I am given to understand he's British too, so I imagine when he's home, he's sounding such. At 6'4". With the scruff.

I thought both The Dresden Files and BSG were excellent, last night. I'll see if I'm still so pleased with DF, once I start reading the books I got, yesterday. But I found it creepy and suspenseful, plus there was kissing.

Damn.
I'm just so tense and . . .
damn.
So, I think it happened.
sumi, was this in reference to BSG?

I'm sort of angry at myself. I fell asleep for the last few minutes, so I missed Starbuck's death, but sort of knew it happened, because I kept opening one eye. When I woke up, I watched the final minutes, this time with my eyes open, and it had no impact. That it had no impact on me is just crazy sauce, because Starbuck is a big reason why I watch the series. I just love her. I really can't believe she's gone, so I'm going to adopt Vonnie's point of view.

I didn't mind the scenes with her mom. I thought the whole episode was compelling. I loved the scenes with her and Lee. I loved Adama smashing his ship. The oracle creeped me out.

Wah. I want Kara back.

Count me in with the growr.

And so say all of us. Excellent.

P.S. Kara better not be dead.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Like knowing that he still had access to the powers when the people were no longer around.

Didn't he say he'd known other people with the same sort of power? Or am I making that up?

Our wings are not tired.

Didn't watch BSG yet because it is on too late for me. Eeeep. Need to watch it soon.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

Didn't he say he'd known other people with the same sort of power? Or am I making that up?

He insinuated, but never came right out and said it.

Art Crawl!!!

Yeah, my comment was about BSG.

Now I'm in the rationalizing and denial stage. Like: from Apollo's POV there really was another ship out there so the heavy raider could have picked her up. . . . not that this should be a good thing. . . for her. I guess.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I really can't believe she's gone, so I'm going to adopt Vonnie's point of view.

Yeah, as much as I think it would make no sense for her to be a Cylon, with all her childhood history, I can't believe she's dead. She can't be! She's STARBUCK. And...she has a DESTINY. And blowing up for no discernible reason is no destiny at all.

As for Heroes, Jeph Loeb spoke at a sci-fi panel at Wondercon, and he said that all the questions raised in the first three or four episodes will be answered by the end of the season. They want each season to feel like a complete story, like a book made of chapters, as it were.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Wait, people actually believe Starbuck is dead?

Honestly, there is no way Ron Moore would kill off his favourite character and, let's admit it, the star of his show. Plus, there are all those loose threads hanging about and the talk about her destiny et al. OF COURSE she'll come back.

There is the possibility that whoever comes back may not quite be Starbuck, and that may be interesting. Her dynamic with Apollo has been played out, and there hasn't been much new about the character other than the nth reiteration about how fucked-up she is.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I'm with Vonnie on this one -- I'm dying (and completely unspoiled, for once) to find out HOW they bring Starbuck back, but I don't have any doubt that they will.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I did get a laugh out of Hotdog leering at Kara from the top bunker with "you SO did have a sex dream! You did!" smirk.

Ha! He had the best line reading of the episode: "What's UP??"

I was actually so exhausted that I fell asleep for most of the second half of the episode, but I did wake up in time to see Kara go boom -- but was so sleepy that I wasn't sure what was really happening. I definitely believe she'll be back, in one form or another (my first thought was "well, she must be one of the Five, then!"), because that's just no way for her to die for real.
