You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Do you think Matt will become an "agent"?

Why not. It puts him in a position to find out what's really going on. Also was that Hana already on the inside taking Eden's job?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Yeah, I missed the whole plotting and scheming going on with the Haitian and what all went down and what info was conveyed. Did he say at one point that he was following orders? From whom?

I thought they were implying that he was taking orders from Dr Where, but I could have misinterpreted that.

Art Crawl!!!

I thought that might be Hana, but I wasn't sure.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Ooh, was that Hana? I was wondering (briefly) where she'd gotten to in the threesomes scheme.

Which would mean that there are now two heroes on the inside. But, vaguely as I remember her, I think it was someone else. She seemed shorter and have longer hair than Hana.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

The Haitian said "I answer to someone whose instructions supercede yours" In response to HRG's "In this company?" the Hatian replied "In your daughter's life". There was then the flashback with Dr. Where, which would make you think that Dr. Where superceded HRG

That is where I got the impression.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Holy fucking shit, you guys. That episode was INTENSE. So much love for Claire, and Mr. Bennett, and Mrs. Bennett, and Lyle too (with the baseball bat!), and -- god, everyone was so amazing. And Claude! I hadn't thought of the connection with Simone or her dad, but that would make sense with the building. And I'm so glad to see that Simone isn't dead!

I cried when Mr. Bennett told the Haitian to "go deep". I wonder what memories he'll be left with. I loved the reveal of why he was trying to keep Claire and everyone else ignorant of her powers -- he really is just trying to protect her. The two of them had so many fantastic scenes together this week, from when Mr. Nakamura first puts her in his arms, to the scene where he's trying on glasses -- I really liked that "you look like my dad" line, when he puts on the right pair. The writing was really tight this week too. I totally dug Mr. Bennett and Matt teaming up and trying to talk down Ted, and how genuinely horrified Mr. Bennett was at the implication that he'd been responsible for giving Claire her powers.

In conclusion: oh, Claire!

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Re: Heroes

Wow. That episode kicked ass. Mr. Bennett and Claire on the bridge got my allergies going.

Re: Dresden

My stupid Tifaux didn't record the episode for some reason, and then I had to manually get it to record tonight's repeat. It wasn't showing any episodes until the marathon on Wednesday. Grr.

Over all, I enjoyed the episode, but again I have to wonder why they're "adapting" the books at all, since despite the fact we had a Bianca, Ancient Mai, Red Court, Black Court and "Third Eye" they bared very little resemblance to the books.

I'm also disappointed we finally see the staff hockey stick in action and Harry's Forzare is a cheesy blue beam with generic cheesy blue beam sound effect.

Also, I had a couple problems with the eye trick because 1) If Harry can use a dead man's eye to see him last few minutes of life, that pretty much takes the mystery out of most murders. 2) While it's a bit of a grey area, I think that spell would fall under the category of necromancy, and thus equal Morgan lopping Harry's head off for breaking the Laws of Magic (well, if he found out.)

Some explanation of how Harry managed to get shot with a couple of crossbows and live would have been nice. I mean, sure, magic, but it kind of lowers the suspense if he can get shot in the back willy nilly.

That said, I still enjoyed the episode a lot as a whole. I loved the bit with Bob crying at the french film and not wanting to stop watching when Harry started gesticulating at him.

Also, Harry got some wit and some snark on. "Big problems are next door. I only do small to medium problems."

an overblown libretto and a sumptuous score/ could never contain the contradictions I adore

Okay. Two dads enter, one dad leaves: Papa Winchester, or Papa Bennet? I am having a tough-as-hell time deciding.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

How much past the hour did this ep run? My tape ended just after "you look like my dad." Sounds like I missed a lot.
